Ramadan of the eighth year after the Hijrah. 00:00:23.210 --> 00:00:27.210 And on the twenty-fifth of that momentous month, most likely. 00:00:27.210 --> 00:00:31.210 The noble Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, ordered 00:00:31.210 --> 00:00:36.210 The demolition of the greatest idol that was worshipped besides Allah in the Arabian Peninsula. 00:00:36.210 --> 00:00:40.210 It was the idol known as al-‘Uzza. 00:00:40.210 --> 00:00:46.340 The hand that demolished it was the hand of the Sword of Allah, Khalid ibn al-Walid. 00:00:46.340 --> 00:00:50.340 For al-‘Uzza and its peers among the idols in the Arabian Peninsula, 00:00:50.340 --> 00:00:53.340 There is a dark, black history. 00:00:53.340 --> 00:00:55.340 The light of Islam erased its darkness. 00:00:55.340 --> 00:00:59.460 And the radiance of faith removed its gloom. 00:00:59.460 --> 00:01:04.459 This story begins in the era of Isma‘il ibn Ibrahim, peace be upon them both. 00:01:04.459 --> 00:01:08.459 For Isma‘il settled in Makkah the Honored. 00:01:08.459 --> 00:01:10.459 His descendants multiplied there. 00:01:10.459 --> 00:01:13.459 And as days passed, his progeny expanded, 00:01:13.459 --> 00:01:17.459 Until Makkah, despite its vastness, became crowded for them. 00:01:17.459 --> 00:01:21.459 At that point, his descendants spread throughout the land. 00:01:21.459 --> 00:01:25.459 They set out across the Arabian Peninsula in search of sustenance. 00:01:25.459 --> 00:01:28.459 And no one would depart from Makkah 00:01:28.459 --> 00:01:32.459 Without taking with them a stone from the stones of the Sacred Precinct, 00:01:32.459 --> 00:01:34.459 Out of reverence for the House of Allah. 00:01:34.459 --> 00:01:37.459 Whenever they settled in a place, 00:01:37.459 --> 00:01:39.459 They would place the stone there, 00:01:39.459 --> 00:01:43.459 And they would circumambulate it just as they circumambulated the Ka‘bah, out of affection for it, 00:01:43.459 --> 00:01:47.459 And veneration for it, and longing for it. 00:01:47.459 --> 00:01:50.590 Then a long time passed, 00:01:50.590 --> 00:01:52.590 And generations followed one another, 00:01:52.590 --> 00:01:55.590 Until those stones were worshipped besides Allah, 00:01:55.590 --> 00:01:59.590 And the people took them as idols and lords. 00:01:59.590 --> 00:02:02.689 This was the affair of the stones. 00:02:02.689 --> 00:02:04.719 As for the carved idols, 00:02:04.719 --> 00:02:08.719 They were brought into the Arabian Peninsula by ‘Amr ibn Rabi‘ah. 00:02:08.719 --> 00:02:13.719 He was a custodian of the Ka‘bah and one of the leaders of the Arabs. 00:02:13.719 --> 00:02:16.719 This ‘Amr fell severely ill. 00:02:16.719 --> 00:02:17.719 It was said to him, 00:02:17.719 --> 00:02:21.719 "In al-Balqa’ in the land of the Levant, there is a hot spring; 00:02:21.719 --> 00:02:23.719 If you go to it, you will be healed." 00:02:23.719 --> 00:02:26.719 So he went to it, bathed in it, and was healed. 00:02:26.719 --> 00:02:29.719 He found its people worshipping idols. 00:02:29.719 --> 00:02:31.719 He asked, "What is this?" 00:02:31.719 --> 00:02:34.719 They replied, "We seek rain through them, 00:02:34.719 --> 00:02:37.719 And we seek victory over the enemy through them." 00:02:37.719 --> 00:02:40.719 He asked them to give him some, and they did. 00:02:40.719 --> 00:02:44.719 He brought them to Makkah and set them up around the Ka‘bah. 00:02:45.719 --> 00:02:48.819 The oldest of the Arab idols was Manat. 00:02:48.819 --> 00:02:50.849 It was called so 00:02:50.849 --> 00:02:55.849 Because blood was spilled (tumna) before it as an offering and out of reverence for it. 00:02:55.849 --> 00:02:59.849 Manat was set up on the seashore 00:02:59.849 --> 00:03:01.849 Between Makkah and Madinah. 00:03:01.849 --> 00:03:04.849 The Arabs revered and feared it, 00:03:04.849 --> 00:03:06.849 And named their children after it, 00:03:06.849 --> 00:03:10.849 Such as ‘Abd Manat and Zayd Manat. 00:03:10.849 --> 00:03:13.879 The people who revered it most intensely 00:03:13.879 --> 00:03:15.879 Were the Aws and the Khazraj. 00:03:15.879 --> 00:03:19.879 Then the Arabs adopted al-Lat after Manat. 00:03:19.879 --> 00:03:23.879 The origin of al-Lat was a square rock in Ta’if. 00:03:23.879 --> 00:03:29.879 A Jew used to sit upon it, kneading flour (sawiq) for the people so they could eat it fresh. 00:03:29.879 --> 00:03:32.879 The people used to call him "al-Lat." 00:03:32.879 --> 00:03:35.879 When the Jew died, 00:03:35.879 --> 00:03:39.879 The tribe of Thaqif built a Ka‘bah and an idol for themselves over the rock. 00:03:39.879 --> 00:03:43.879 Quraysh and the rest of the Arabs revered al-Lat, 00:03:43.879 --> 00:03:45.879 And named their children after it, 00:03:45.879 --> 00:03:49.879 Saying Zayd al-Lat and Taym al-Lat. 00:03:49.879 --> 00:03:53.939 Then the Arabs adopted al-‘Uzza after that. 00:03:53.939 --> 00:03:58.939 They built it in the land of Nakhlah, nine miles from Makkah. 00:03:58.939 --> 00:04:02.939 Al-‘Uzza was the greatest idol among Quraysh. 00:04:02.939 --> 00:04:05.939 They built a house over it to rival the Ka‘bah, 00:04:05.939 --> 00:04:09.939 And protected a sanctuary for it to rival the Makkan sanctuary. 00:04:09.939 --> 00:04:13.939 They established a slaughterhouse there to sacrifice offerings. 00:04:13.939 --> 00:04:17.939 Quraysh singled out al-‘Uzza for special veneration. 00:04:17.939 --> 00:04:20.939 When they circumambulated the Ka‘bah, they would say, 00:04:20.939 --> 00:04:24.939 "By al-Lat, al-‘Uzza, and the third one, Manat, 00:04:24.939 --> 00:04:27.939 For they are the exalted cranes (gharaniq), 00:04:27.939 --> 00:04:30.939 And their intercession is indeed to be hoped for." 00:04:30.939 --> 00:04:33.939 They used to say about these three idols 00:04:33.939 --> 00:04:36.939 That they were the daughters of Allah. 00:04:36.939 --> 00:04:41.009 Exalted is Allah far above what they associate with Him. 00:04:41.009 --> 00:04:45.009 When Allah sent His Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, 00:04:45.009 --> 00:04:49.009 With guidance and the religion of monotheism, he condemned al-‘Uzza 00:04:49.009 --> 00:04:52.009 Among the idols of Quraysh that he condemned. 00:04:52.009 --> 00:04:57.009 This weighed heavily upon them, to the point that Sa‘id ibn al-‘As, 00:04:57.009 --> 00:05:00.009 When he fell into the illness from which he died, 00:05:00.009 --> 00:05:03.009 Abu Lahab came to visit him. 00:05:04.009 --> 00:05:05.009 He said, 00:05:05.009 --> 00:05:08.009 "Why are you weeping, O Abu Uhayhah? 00:05:08.009 --> 00:05:11.009 Are you weeping because of death, which is inevitable?" 00:05:11.009 --> 00:05:12.009 He said, "No, 00:05:12.009 --> 00:05:17.069 But I fear that al-‘Uzza will not be worshipped after I am gone." 00:05:17.069 --> 00:05:18.069 Abu Lahab said, 00:05:18.069 --> 00:05:22.069 "By Allah, it was not worshipped during your life because of you, 00:05:22.069 --> 00:05:25.069 So that you should worry about it being abandoned after your death." 00:05:25.069 --> 00:05:27.069 Abu Uhayhah said, 00:05:27.069 --> 00:05:32.139 "Now I know that I have a successor who will protect it after me." 00:05:32.139 --> 00:05:36.139 Quraysh had other idols inside the Ka‘bah. 00:05:36.139 --> 00:05:38.139 The greatest of them was Hubal. 00:05:38.139 --> 00:05:42.139 Hubal was made of red carnelian in the shape of a human. 00:05:42.139 --> 00:05:45.139 Its right hand was broken, 00:05:45.139 --> 00:05:48.139 So they made a hand of gold for it. 00:05:48.139 --> 00:05:51.139 In front of Hubal were seven arrows. 00:05:51.139 --> 00:05:53.139 Written on the first was "pure" (sarih), 00:05:53.139 --> 00:05:55.139 And on the other was "attached" (mulsaq). 00:05:55.139 --> 00:05:58.139 If someone doubted the lineage of a newborn, 00:05:58.139 --> 00:06:00.139 They would offer a gift to it, 00:06:00.139 --> 00:06:02.139 Then cast the arrows. 00:06:02.139 --> 00:06:06.139 If "pure" came out, the newborn was attributed to his father. 00:06:06.139 --> 00:06:09.139 If "attached" came out, they disowned him. 00:06:09.139 --> 00:06:13.139 Every household in Makkah had an idol in their home, 00:06:13.139 --> 00:06:15.139 Which they worshipped besides Allah. 00:06:15.139 --> 00:06:18.139 If one of them wanted to travel, 00:06:18.139 --> 00:06:22.139 The last thing he would do in his house was to touch it for blessing. 00:06:22.139 --> 00:06:24.139 And if he returned from his journey, 00:06:24.139 --> 00:06:29.170 The first thing he would do upon entering his house was to touch it. 00:06:29.170 --> 00:06:34.170 When Allah sent Muhammad with the monotheism of Allah and singling Him out for worship, 00:06:34.170 --> 00:06:38.170 They said, "Has he made the gods one God?" 00:06:38.170 --> 00:06:41.170 “Maketh he the gods One Allah? Lo! that is an astounding thing.” (38:5) 00:06:41.170 --> 00:06:44.170 When a man from the Arabs traveled, 00:06:44.170 --> 00:06:46.170 And stopped in a place, 00:06:46.170 --> 00:06:48.170 He would take four stones. 00:06:48.170 --> 00:06:51.170 He would look at the best of them and take it as a lord, 00:06:51.170 --> 00:06:54.170 And make the remaining three a hearth, 00:06:54.170 --> 00:06:58.170 Placing his pot upon them to cook his food. 00:06:58.170 --> 00:07:02.170 The worship of these idols by the Arabs was not without its ironies. 00:07:02.170 --> 00:07:08.170 Among them is that one of them passed by one of these set-up idols, 00:07:08.170 --> 00:07:13.170 And found a fox standing next to the idol and urinating on its head. 00:07:13.170 --> 00:07:18.170 He said, "Is this a lord that a fox urinates on its head? 00:07:18.170 --> 00:07:22.170 Humiliated is he upon whom the fox has urinated." 00:07:22.170 --> 00:07:25.170 Another is that Imru’ al-Qays ibn Hujr 00:07:25.170 --> 00:07:27.170 Went to an idol on the day his father was killed, 00:07:27.170 --> 00:07:32.170 And cast the arrows before it to consult it regarding vengeance for his father. 00:07:32.170 --> 00:07:36.170 The arrow came out forbidding him from seeking vengeance for his father. 00:07:36.170 --> 00:07:40.170 So he kicked the idol with his foot, cursed it, and insulted it, 00:07:40.170 --> 00:07:41.170 And said to it, 00:07:41.170 --> 00:07:45.230 "If your father had been killed, you would not have said this!" 00:07:45.230 --> 00:07:51.230 A man from the tribe of Mulkan brought his camels to an idol of his people called Sa‘d, 00:07:51.230 --> 00:07:55.230 Intending to dedicate them to it, seeking its blessing. 00:07:55.230 --> 00:08:00.230 When the camels saw the idol, they bolted from the blood that was spilled before it, 00:08:00.230 --> 00:08:03.230 And scattered everywhere. 00:08:03.230 --> 00:08:08.230 The Bedouin became angry, took a stone, threw it at the idol, and said, 00:08:08.230 --> 00:08:12.329 "We came to Sa‘d to unite our scattered herd, 00:08:12.329 --> 00:08:16.329 But Sa‘d scattered us; I am no longer a follower of Sa‘d. 00:08:16.329 --> 00:08:23.329 Is Sa‘d anything but a rock in a desolate land, neither guiding to error nor to righteousness?" 00:08:23.329 --> 00:08:29.329 Among these stories is that of ‘Amr ibn al-Jamuh, a leader of the tribe of Salamah. 00:08:29.329 --> 00:08:32.330 He had taken an idol into his house. 00:08:32.330 --> 00:08:35.330 When the young men of Salamah embraced Islam, 00:08:35.330 --> 00:08:39.330 And witnessed the Pledge of ‘Aqabah with their fathers and returned to Yathrib, 00:08:39.330 --> 00:08:45.330 Whenever night fell, they would enter ‘Amr’s house, take the idol, 00:08:45.330 --> 00:08:50.330 And throw it into a pit where the filth of the Banu Salamah gathered. 00:08:50.330 --> 00:08:52.389 When ‘Amr woke up, he would say, 00:08:52.389 --> 00:08:57.389 "Woe to you! Who has attacked our gods tonight?" 00:08:57.389 --> 00:08:59.389 Then he would go out searching for it, 00:08:59.389 --> 00:09:04.389 And when he found it, he would wash it, perfume it, and say to it, 00:09:04.389 --> 00:09:08.389 "By Allah, if I knew who did this to you, I would disgrace him." 00:09:08.389 --> 00:09:10.389 When evening came and he slept, 00:09:10.389 --> 00:09:14.389 They would go to it and do the same to his idol. 00:09:14.389 --> 00:09:16.389 He would wake up searching for it, 00:09:16.389 --> 00:09:19.389 And find it in the same state of filth. 00:09:19.389 --> 00:09:22.389 He would wash it, clean it, and perfume it. 00:09:22.389 --> 00:09:25.389 Then he brought his sword and hung it upon it, 00:09:25.389 --> 00:09:27.389 And said to it, 00:09:27.389 --> 00:09:31.389 "By Allah, I do not know who is doing this to you, as you see. 00:09:31.389 --> 00:09:34.389 If there is any good in you, defend yourself, 00:09:34.389 --> 00:09:36.389 For this sword is with you." 00:09:37.580 --> 00:09:39.580 When evening came and he slept, 00:09:39.580 --> 00:09:43.580 They went to it, took the sword from its neck, 00:09:43.580 --> 00:09:45.580 Then took a dead dog, 00:09:45.580 --> 00:09:47.580 And tied it to the idol with a rope, 00:09:47.580 --> 00:09:51.580 Then threw it into one of the wells of the Banu Salamah. 00:09:51.580 --> 00:09:54.580 ‘Amr went out and did not find it in its place, 00:09:54.580 --> 00:09:57.580 But found it in the well, upside down, 00:09:57.580 --> 00:10:00.580 Tied to a dead dog. 00:10:00.580 --> 00:10:02.580 Those who had embraced Islam from his people spoke to him, 00:10:02.580 --> 00:10:04.580 And invited him to Islam. 00:10:04.580 --> 00:10:06.580 He embraced Islam, and his Islam was sincere. 00:10:06.580 --> 00:10:09.580 Then he said, thanking Allah for saving him 00:10:09.580 --> 00:10:12.580 From the blindness and misguidance he was in: 00:10:12.580 --> 00:10:15.580 "By Allah, if you were a god, you would not be 00:10:15.580 --> 00:10:19.580 You and a dog in a well, tied together. 00:10:19.580 --> 00:10:22.580 Praise be to Allah, the Most High, the Bestower, 00:10:22.580 --> 00:10:26.580 The Giver, the Provider, the Judge of the Religion. 00:10:26.580 --> 00:10:29.580 He is the One who saved me before 00:10:29.580 --> 00:10:32.580 I was held hostage in the darkness of the grave." 00:10:32.580 --> 00:10:34.740 Most of these idols remained 00:10:34.740 --> 00:10:37.740 Worshipped besides Allah in the Arabian Peninsula, 00:10:37.740 --> 00:10:40.740 Until Allah granted His Prophet 00:10:40.740 --> 00:10:41.740 The clear victory. 00:10:41.740 --> 00:10:44.740 That was a sign of the end 00:10:44.740 --> 00:10:45.740 Of the era of idols, 00:10:45.740 --> 00:10:48.740 And the removal of the symbols of polytheism. 00:10:48.740 --> 00:10:50.740 It was among the virtues of Ramadan 00:10:50.740 --> 00:10:53.740 That in its glorious days, 00:10:53.740 --> 00:10:54.740 All the idols were demolished. 00:10:54.740 --> 00:10:57.840 For on the twentieth of Ramadan, 00:10:57.840 --> 00:10:59.840 In the eighth year after the Hijrah, 00:10:59.840 --> 00:11:00.840 The Messenger of Allah, 00:11:00.840 --> 00:11:04.840 Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, entered Makkah as a conqueror, 00:11:04.840 --> 00:11:07.840 He turned his face toward the Sacred Mosque. 00:11:07.840 --> 00:11:11.840 The idols were set up around the Kaaba. 00:11:11.840 --> 00:11:13.840 He took the tip of his spear. 00:11:13.840 --> 00:11:16.840 He began striking them in their eyes and faces. 00:11:16.840 --> 00:11:19.840 They would collapse at his feet while he recited. 00:11:19.840 --> 00:11:22.840 “And say: Truth hath come and falsehood hath vanished away. Lo! falsehood is ever bound to vanish.” (17:81) 00:11:22.840 --> 00:11:25.840 “And say: Truth hath come and falsehood hath vanished away. Lo! falsehood is ever bound to vanish.” (17:81) 00:11:25.840 --> 00:11:26.840 Then he gave orders regarding them. 00:11:26.840 --> 00:11:28.840 They were overturned onto their faces. 00:11:28.840 --> 00:11:30.840 They were removed from the Mosque. 00:11:30.840 --> 00:11:32.840 And fire was set to them. 00:11:32.840 --> 00:11:35.840 At the head of them was Hubal. 00:11:35.840 --> 00:11:38.000 On the twenty-fourth of Ramadan, 00:11:38.000 --> 00:11:40.000 in the eighth year after the Hijrah, 00:11:40.000 --> 00:11:43.000 the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, sent 00:11:43.000 --> 00:11:46.000 Sa'd Ibn Zayd al-Ashhali to Manat. 00:11:46.000 --> 00:11:50.000 He demolished it and found nothing in its treasury. 00:11:50.000 --> 00:11:53.059 On the twenty-fifth of Ramadan, 00:11:53.059 --> 00:11:56.059 the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, sent 00:11:56.059 --> 00:11:58.059 Khalid Ibn al-Walid 00:11:58.059 --> 00:12:01.059 with thirty horsemen of his Companions. 00:12:01.059 --> 00:12:03.059 He commanded them to demolish al-'Uzza. 00:12:03.059 --> 00:12:07.059 Its custodians and caretakers were from the Banu Shayban. 00:12:07.059 --> 00:12:11.059 When its custodian heard of Khalid’s approach toward it, 00:12:11.059 --> 00:12:13.059 he hung a sword upon it. 00:12:13.059 --> 00:12:15.059 And he recited to it, saying: 00:12:15.059 --> 00:12:19.059 "O 'Uzza, show your might, do not be slow, 00:12:19.059 --> 00:12:22.059 against Khalid; cast off your veil and gird yourself. 00:12:22.059 --> 00:12:26.059 O 'Uzza, if you do not kill Khalid today, 00:12:26.059 --> 00:12:30.059 then prepare for an immediate disgrace or become a Christian." 00:12:30.059 --> 00:12:33.320 When Khalid reached it, 00:12:33.320 --> 00:12:35.320 he demolished it while repeating: 00:12:35.320 --> 00:12:39.350 "O 'Uzza, may you be denied, not glorified, 00:12:39.350 --> 00:12:42.350 for I have seen that Allah has humiliated you." 00:12:42.350 --> 00:12:47.350 Then Khalid returned to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, 00:12:47.350 --> 00:12:49.350 and informed him of the demolition of al-'Uzza. 00:12:49.350 --> 00:12:53.350 He said to him, "Praise be to Allah who has honored us through you 00:12:53.350 --> 00:12:55.350 and saved us from destruction. 00:12:55.350 --> 00:12:58.350 I used to see my father come to al-'Uzza, 00:12:58.350 --> 00:13:02.350 bringing it the best of his wealth in camels and sheep. 00:13:02.350 --> 00:13:04.350 He would slaughter them for al-'Uzza, 00:13:04.350 --> 00:13:07.350 then stay by it for three days, 00:13:07.350 --> 00:13:09.350 and then return to us joyful. 00:13:09.350 --> 00:13:12.350 I reflected upon what my father died upon, 00:13:12.350 --> 00:13:14.350 and how he was deceived, 00:13:14.350 --> 00:13:18.350 until he ended up slaughtering for that which neither hears nor sees, 00:13:18.350 --> 00:13:20.350 and neither harms nor benefits." 00:13:20.350 --> 00:13:23.350 The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, 00:13:23.350 --> 00:13:25.350 "This matter rests with Allah. 00:13:25.350 --> 00:13:28.350 Whoever He guides to the truth, it is made easy for him, 00:13:28.350 --> 00:13:32.350 and whoever He leaves to misguidance, he remains within it." 00:13:32.350 --> 00:13:35.450 In Ramadan of the ninth year after the Hijrah, 00:13:35.450 --> 00:13:41.450 the delegation of Thaqif, the owners of al-Lat, came to the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, 00:13:41.450 --> 00:13:43.450 offering their Islam to him. 00:13:43.450 --> 00:13:48.450 They asked him to leave al-Lat for them for three years without demolishing it. 00:13:48.450 --> 00:13:52.450 But the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, refused that. 00:13:52.450 --> 00:13:55.450 They did not cease asking him, year by year, 00:13:55.450 --> 00:13:57.450 and he refused them. 00:13:57.450 --> 00:14:00.450 Until they asked for just one month, 00:14:00.450 --> 00:14:03.450 but he refused to leave it for any specified time. 00:14:03.450 --> 00:14:05.450 He insisted on its demolition. 00:14:05.450 --> 00:14:08.450 They asked him that they not be the ones to demolish it with their own hands. 00:14:08.450 --> 00:14:11.450 The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, 00:14:11.450 --> 00:14:14.450 "As for breaking your idols with your own hands, 00:14:14.450 --> 00:14:16.480 we will excuse you from that." 00:14:16.480 --> 00:14:19.480 Then the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, sent 00:14:19.480 --> 00:14:21.480 with them Abu Sufyan Ibn Harb 00:14:21.480 --> 00:14:23.480 and al-Mughirah Ibn Shu'bah 00:14:23.480 --> 00:14:25.509 to demolish al-Lat. 00:14:25.509 --> 00:14:27.509 When they reached Ta'if, 00:14:27.509 --> 00:14:31.509 the women of Thaqif came out unveiled, weeping for their deities, 00:14:31.509 --> 00:14:32.509 lamenting their loss, 00:14:32.509 --> 00:14:36.509 and criticizing their men who had surrendered them. 00:14:36.509 --> 00:14:40.509 When al-Mughirah intended to demolish it, he said to Abu Sufyan, 00:14:40.509 --> 00:14:43.509 "Shall I make you laugh at Thaqif?" 00:14:43.509 --> 00:14:44.509 He said, "Yes." 00:14:44.509 --> 00:14:48.509 He took the axe and struck al-Lat one blow. 00:14:48.509 --> 00:14:52.509 Then he shouted and fell on his face as if he had been struck down. 00:14:52.509 --> 00:14:55.580 Ta'if erupted with cries of joy, 00:14:55.580 --> 00:14:58.580 believing that al-Lat had struck down al-Mughirah. 00:14:58.580 --> 00:15:00.580 They approached him saying, 00:15:00.580 --> 00:15:03.580 "Woe to you! How did you see it? 00:15:03.580 --> 00:15:05.580 It destroys those who show it enmity! 00:15:05.580 --> 00:15:08.580 It destroys those who show it enmity!" 00:15:08.580 --> 00:15:11.580 Then al-Mughirah stood up, laughing at the people, 00:15:11.580 --> 00:15:13.580 and mocking their foolishness. 00:15:13.580 --> 00:15:16.580 He then turned to al-Lat, striking it with his pickaxe, 00:15:16.580 --> 00:15:18.580 while saying: 00:15:18.580 --> 00:15:19.580 "Allah is the Greatest, 00:15:19.580 --> 00:15:21.580 Allah is the Greatest. 00:15:21.580 --> 00:15:25.580 There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, 00:15:25.580 --> 00:15:28.580 the One, the Eternal Refuge." 00:15:28.580 --> 00:15:31.580 So congratulations to the Muslims for Ramadan, 00:15:31.580 --> 00:15:34.580 congratulations to them for its glorious days. 00:15:34.580 --> 00:15:37.580 For in it, the idols were disgraced, 00:15:37.580 --> 00:15:39.580 and in it, the statues were uprooted.
