Forty hadiths on the virtue of charity.
On the authority of Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, who said:
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
There are seven things for which a servant continues to receive reward after his death,
while he is in his grave:
whoever teaches knowledge,
or directs a stream of water,
or digs a well,
or plants a palm tree,
or builds a mosque,
or leaves behind a copy of the Qur'an as an inheritance,
or leaves behind a child
who seeks forgiveness for him after his death.
