The servants of the salaf and Sufism
Sufism did not appear with its deviations and eccentricities.
Except after the fourth century of the Hijrah.
Before that,
The people of the first three favored generations were thus.
They are known for their diligent worship, detachment from worldly affairs, and piety.
Following in this the guidance of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and his noble Companions.
Among these noble servants are
Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal
And Ibn al-Mubarak
Sufyan al-Thawri
And al-Fudayl ibn 'Iyad
and others
None of them exhibited any of the eccentricities or innovations of the Sufis.
Sufism did not exist at all during their time.
Nevertheless
The Sufis claim that these esteemed worshippers are among them.
They attribute them to themselves.
The truth is that they are innocent of all that.
