A summary of the concepts held by the Ahl al-Sunnah.
Defending the truth is an obligation upon every believer according to their capacity.
Everyone who identifies with the truth must defend it and repel falsehood by whatever means they can.
If the banner of jihad by the spear is present and one is among those qualified for it, they should participate.
But if that banner is absent due to circumstances imposed by the lived reality,
then one should strive through whatever means they can, such as calling to the truth, clarifying it, or contributing wealth.
Or by supplicating that Allah grant victory to the truth and its people, and so on.
It is feared that those who fall short in performing what they are capable of in this regard
may fall under the category of those who turn their backs on the day of battle,
having prioritized the fleeting worldly life over the love of Allah and His Messenger, peace be upon him.
Allah the Exalted says:
“Say: If your fathers, and your sons, and your brethren, and your wives, and your tribe, and the wealth ye have acquired, and merchandise for which ye fear that there will no sale, and dwellings ye desire are dearer to you than Allah and His messenger and striving in His way: then wait till Allah bringeth His command to pass. Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.” (9:24)
"...and wealth you have acquired, and commerce you fear will decline..."
