I was a young man in Mecca
When people were invited to go out to the Tanim area outside the sanctuary
To bear witness to Egypt, Akhu Bib bin Adi, may God be pleased with him
After they treacherously captured him
I was affected by that incident
What I heard and witnessed of Khubayb’s love for the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, resonated with me
He deepened his belief in the religion of Islam
This was the reason for my Islam
And now the Commander of the Faithful, Omar, may God be pleased with him, is in Homs
So I went to her and I hated the emirate
Then he asked her family how I was with them
The people of Homs remembered me well
However, they complained to him about four things
So Omar, may God be pleased with him, called me
And he said to them: Give what you have to your ruler
They said that he would not come out to us until daylight
Omar asked me about that
I said, “By God, I used to hate mentioning that.”
But because my family does not have a servant
I knead my dough and then let it ferment
Then I bake my bread and then perform ablution for the morning prayer
Then go out to the people
Omar said: What else are you complaining about?
They said he doesn't answer us at night
So I said, “I have made the day for them and the night for my Lord.”
Omar said what else?
They said he does not come out to us one day a month
I said that I do not have a servant to wash my clothes
I have no clothes other than what I wear
I wash my dress and then wait for it to dry
At the end of the day, I go out to them
Omar said: What else are you complaining about?
They said that he would fall into a faint from time to time
He is absent from those in his council
So I said that I had witnessed Egypt with Akhu Bib, may God be pleased with him, in Mecca
On that day, I will be one of the polytheists
The Quraysh crucified him on a stake
They cut his body piece by piece until he died
Whenever I mentioned that scene I saw
I remembered Turki Nasra Khabib
I tremble in fear of God Almighty
And he cheats on the one who cheats on me
Omar said, “Praise be to God who did not disappoint me in you.”
After a while, a delegation from the people of Homs came to the Caliph in the city
Omar said to them
Write to me the names of your poor people
So they wrote him a book containing the names of the poor
And they put my name on it
Omar said: Who is this?
They said this is our prince
He said, “And your prince is poor.”
They said yes
Omar was surprised and said:
How can your prince be poor?
Where is his giving?
Where is his livelihood?
They said, O Commander of the Faithful!
He doesn't catch anything
He spends all His giving on us
Omar cried
Then he pledged a thousand dinars
So he packed it and sent it to me
And he said
May peace come from me
And tell him
The Commander of the Faithful sent you this money
So seek help from him for your needs
So the Messenger brought him to me
So I looked at the dinars
So I started to take it back
And in the morning
I spent it all for the sake of God
