WEBVTT 00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:05.089 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 00:00:05.089 --> 00:00:10.089 It is Paradise. 00:00:10.089 --> 00:00:23.170 The description of the structure of Paradise. 00:00:23.170 --> 00:00:26.170 All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 00:00:26.170 --> 00:00:29.170 And peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad. 00:00:29.170 --> 00:00:32.170 And upon his family and all of his Companions. 00:00:32.170 --> 00:00:34.390 And furthermore, 00:00:34.390 --> 00:00:36.390 O people of Paradise 00:00:36.390 --> 00:00:38.390 Look around you. 00:00:38.390 --> 00:00:40.390 You will see the general construction of Paradise. 00:00:40.390 --> 00:00:42.390 A brick of gold. 00:00:42.390 --> 00:00:44.390 And a brick made of silver. 00:00:44.390 --> 00:00:46.390 And between one brick and the next. 00:00:46.390 --> 00:00:48.390 The fragrant musk. 00:00:48.390 --> 00:00:50.390 Intense and fragrant in scent. 00:00:50.390 --> 00:00:52.490 Your dwellings in Paradise. 00:00:52.490 --> 00:00:54.490 These are the chambers and the palaces. 00:00:54.490 --> 00:00:55.490 And the tents. 00:00:55.490 --> 00:00:58.490 These are pleasant and excellent dwellings. 00:00:58.490 --> 00:01:01.579 Allah the Exalted spoke of her. 00:01:01.579 --> 00:01:06.579 And pleasant dwellings in the Gardens of Eden. 00:01:06.579 --> 00:01:08.579 That is the supreme triumph. 00:01:08.579 --> 00:01:13.739 As for the dwellings of Paradise, their description is beyond what any human mind could ever conceive. 00:01:13.739 --> 00:01:16.739 Mere description cannot approach the reality of the matter. 00:01:16.739 --> 00:01:19.739 They are nothing more than mere imaginings. 00:01:19.739 --> 00:01:22.739 Hearing about a matter is not the same as witnessing it firsthand. 00:01:22.739 --> 00:01:25.840 I mean, regardless of the descriptions you hear now, 00:01:25.840 --> 00:01:29.840 For you are unable to fully grasp that beauty. 00:01:29.840 --> 00:01:31.840 And that grandeur. 00:01:31.840 --> 00:01:34.510 As for the chambers of Paradise, 00:01:34.510 --> 00:01:36.510 They are chambers that have been constructed. 00:01:36.510 --> 00:01:38.510 strata, one upon another. 00:01:38.510 --> 00:01:40.510 Some of them are layered one above the other. 00:01:40.510 --> 00:01:43.510 Beauty upon beauty. 00:01:43.510 --> 00:01:46.579 And a radiance above that radiance. 00:01:46.579 --> 00:01:50.579 These are chambers unlike the chambers of this world. 00:01:50.579 --> 00:01:52.579 These are the chambers. 00:01:52.579 --> 00:01:54.579 made of chrysolite and ruby 00:01:54.579 --> 00:01:57.579 One can see its interior from its exterior. 00:01:57.579 --> 00:02:00.579 And its inward reality is derived from its outward manifestation. 00:02:00.579 --> 00:02:02.579 They are established and precise foundations. 00:02:02.579 --> 00:02:05.579 Highly ornate and elevated structures. 00:02:05.579 --> 00:02:08.580 One is left bewildered when attempting to describe her beauty. 00:02:08.580 --> 00:02:12.639 And it is sufficient for us to consider what our Lord, the Exalted, has said regarding her. 00:02:12.639 --> 00:02:15.740 However, those who are mindful of their Lord 00:02:15.740 --> 00:02:18.740 “But those who keep their duty to their Lord, for them are lofty halls with lofty halls above them, built (for them), beneath which rivers flow. (It is) a promise of Allah. Allah faileth not His promise.” (39:20) 00:02:18.740 --> 00:02:23.740 “But those who keep their duty to their Lord, for them are lofty halls with lofty halls above them, built (for them), beneath which rivers flow. Allah faileth not His promise.” (39:20) 00:02:28.740 --> 00:02:33.120 And the people of Paradise will gaze upon the inhabitants of the lofty chambers above them. 00:02:33.120 --> 00:02:38.120 Just as you see the brilliant star receding on the horizon. 00:02:38.120 --> 00:02:41.120 From the East or the West. 00:02:41.120 --> 00:02:44.120 due to the varying degrees of merit among them. 00:02:44.120 --> 00:02:47.439 They shall be secure and at peace within the lofty chambers. 00:02:47.439 --> 00:02:50.439 They are in bliss and contentment. 00:02:50.439 --> 00:02:52.439 Allah the Exalted said regarding them: 00:02:52.439 --> 00:02:55.439 “And it is not your wealth nor your children that will bring you near unto Us, but he who believeth and doeth good (he draweth near). As for such, theirs will be twofold reward for what they did and they will dwell secure in lofty halls.” (34:37) 00:02:55.439 --> 00:02:59.500 And the angels shall receive them with greetings of peace. 00:02:59.500 --> 00:03:01.500 Welcoming them. 00:03:01.500 --> 00:03:05.569 “They will be awarded the high place forasmuch as they were steadfast, and they will meet therein with welcome and 00:03:22.080 He then spoke to the one who had softened his speech. 00:03:22.080 --> 00:03:24.080 And provide food to others. 00:03:24.080 --> 00:03:27.080 And he spent the night standing in prayer for the sake of Allah. 00:03:27.080 --> 00:03:29.080 And the people are asleep. 00:03:29.080 --> 00:03:31.590 As for the tents 00:03:31.590 --> 00:03:34.590 For they are unlike the chambers and the palaces. 00:03:34.590 --> 00:03:36.590 They are tents situated within gardens. 00:03:36.590 --> 00:03:39.719 And upon the riverbanks 00:03:39.719 --> 00:03:43.719 A single tent made of a hollowed-out pearl. 00:03:43.719 --> 00:03:47.719 Its height in the sky is thirty miles. 00:03:47.719 --> 00:03:50.719 And its length is sixty miles. 00:03:50.719 --> 00:03:54.780 The width is likewise sixty miles. 00:03:54.780 --> 00:03:58.780 A tent made of a single hollowed-out pearl. 00:03:58.780 --> 00:04:04.909 You will not find anything in this world that compares or is similar to this. 00:04:04.909 --> 00:04:09.300 These tents are inhabited by the wide-eyed houris. 00:04:09.300 --> 00:04:13.300 In every corner of its corners, there are people devoted to it. 00:04:13.300 --> 00:04:18.300 They circulate among them, yet they do not see one another. 00:04:18.300 --> 00:04:20.300 Due to the vast distance between them. 00:04:20.300 --> 00:04:22.459 Allah the Almighty says: 00:04:22.459 --> 00:04:26.459 “Fair ones, close-guarded in pavilions -” (55:72) 00:04:26.459 --> 00:04:31.100 And if this is the state of the chambers and the tents 00:04:31.100 --> 00:04:35.100 You can therefore imagine what those palaces must be like. 00:04:35.100 --> 00:04:38.100 The tongue is incapable of describing it. 00:04:38.100 --> 00:04:45.160 However, it suffices for you to know that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, has entered Paradise. 00:04:45.160 --> 00:04:48.160 He then saw a palace therein that pleased him. 00:04:48.160 --> 00:04:53.160 He wished to bring him in, such was his profound admiration for him. 00:04:53.160 --> 00:04:55.160 And he thought that it belonged to him. 00:04:55.160 --> 00:04:58.220 Then Jibril, peace be upon him, asked. 00:04:58.220 --> 00:05:00.220 To whom does this palace belong? 00:05:00.220 --> 00:05:01.220 He then said 00:05:01.220 --> 00:05:05.220 It belongs to ‘Umar Ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him. 00:05:05.220 --> 00:05:10.769 Once, Jibril came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. 00:05:10.769 --> 00:05:12.769 He then said 00:05:12.769 --> 00:05:14.769 O Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. 00:05:14.769 --> 00:05:16.769 This is Khadijah, who has arrived. 00:05:16.769 --> 00:05:19.769 She had with her a vessel containing food. 00:05:19.769 --> 00:05:21.899 So when it comes to you 00:05:22.899 --> 00:05:26.899 Then he recited to her, "Peace from her Lord and from me." 00:05:26.899 --> 00:05:30.899 And he gave her the glad tidings of a house in Paradise made of hollowed pearls. 00:05:30.899 --> 00:05:33.959 Therein shall be neither clamor nor fatigue. 00:05:33.959 --> 00:05:36.959 Meaning, there shall be no shouting and no clamor. 00:05:36.959 --> 00:05:40.660 And there is no fatigue or hardship in it. 00:05:40.660 --> 00:05:42.660 Allah the Almighty says: 00:05:42.660 --> 00:05:48.660 “Blessed is He Who, if He will, will assign thee better than (all) that - Gardens underneath which rivers flow - and will assign thee mansions.” (25:10) 00:05:48.660 --> 00:05:52.660 Gardens beneath which rivers flow. 00:05:52.660 --> 00:05:55.660 And He shall grant you palaces. 00:05:55.660 --> 00:05:58.139 O people of Paradise. 00:05:58.139 --> 00:06:00.139 Congratulations to you all. 00:06:00.139 --> 00:06:04.139 Your palaces are being decorated for you now. 00:06:04.139 --> 00:06:08.139 And you shall enter it, to abide therein forever. 00:06:08.139 --> 00:06:11.139 Without any fatigue or weariness. 00:06:11.139 --> 00:06:13.139 Everlasting bliss. 00:06:13.139 --> 00:06:17.459 It is not accompanied by any weariness or fatigue. 00:06:17.459 --> 00:06:20.459 And you, O people of Paradise 00:06:20.459 --> 00:06:23.459 Each one of you knows his own shortcomings. 00:06:23.459 --> 00:06:26.459 He is aware of all his possessions. 00:06:26.459 --> 00:06:29.459 He does not need to ask about it. 00:06:29.459 --> 00:06:32.589 Or someone guides him to it. 00:06:32.589 --> 00:06:36.589 Just as you depart from the Friday prayer to your homes 00:06:36.589 --> 00:06:40.589 without going astray in your understanding of them. 00:06:40.589 --> 00:06:42.589 Likewise, your homes. 00:06:42.589 --> 00:06:44.589 You know them well. 00:06:44.589 --> 00:06:48.589 It is as if you were created and raised within it. 00:06:48.589 --> 00:06:50.720 Allah the Almighty says: 00:06:50.720 --> 00:06:56.550 “And bring them in unto the Garden which He hath made known to them.” (47:6) 00:06:56.550 --> 00:06:58.550 O people of Paradise. 00:06:58.550 --> 00:07:01.649 Yet these palaces and chambers 00:07:01.649 --> 00:07:05.649 And this tent is made of hollowed-out pearl. 00:07:05.649 --> 00:07:07.649 What were its furnishings? 00:07:07.649 --> 00:07:10.649 And what is contained within them in terms of furnishings? 00:07:10.649 --> 00:07:14.129 Allah the Exalted says 00:07:14.129 --> 00:07:20.639 “Reclining upon couches lined with silk brocade, the fruit of both the gardens near to hand.” (55:54) 00:07:20.639 --> 00:07:24.639 The description and beauty of those furnishings are known to none but Allah. 00:07:24.639 --> 00:07:26.670 except for Allah, the Exalted. 00:07:26.670 --> 00:07:30.670 Its linings, through which the earth is visible, are made of thick silk. 00:07:30.670 --> 00:07:33.670 It is the finest and most luxurious of silks. 00:07:33.670 --> 00:07:36.899 How, then, can one address their outward manifestations? 00:07:36.899 --> 00:07:39.899 He, glory be to Him, drew attention to the nobility of the outward appearance. 00:07:39.899 --> 00:07:41.899 Through the nobility of the inner self. 00:07:41.899 --> 00:07:47.060 It has become customary that the outward appearance is considered better than the inner reality. 00:07:47.060 --> 00:07:51.060 And you sit and recline upon them. 00:07:51.060 --> 00:07:55.060 Sitting with composure, stability, and ease. 00:07:55.060 --> 00:07:58.060 Like the sitting of kings upon their thrones. 00:07:58.060 --> 00:08:02.439 Allah the Exalted has described these furnishings. 00:08:02.439 --> 00:08:03.439 He then said 00:08:03.439 --> 00:08:06.569 And elevated furnishings. 00:08:06.569 --> 00:08:11.569 This means they are raised high upon thrones, a magnificent elevation. 00:08:11.569 --> 00:08:14.569 High, low, and soft. 00:08:14.569 --> 00:08:18.569 Those furnishings are made of silk, gold, and pearls. 00:08:18.569 --> 00:08:22.569 And that which none knows save Allah the Exalted. 00:08:22.569 --> 00:08:26.730 As for the family, whether in palaces or in tents, 00:08:26.730 --> 00:08:28.730 So, I present to you her account. 00:08:28.730 --> 00:08:32.080 It is among the honors bestowed upon you by your Lord. 00:08:32.080 --> 00:08:35.080 You will be upon thrones of bliss. 00:08:35.080 --> 00:08:38.080 These are the elevated gatherings. 00:08:38.080 --> 00:08:41.080 Adorned with various types of luxurious coverings. 00:08:41.080 --> 00:08:44.080 The embellished and the ornate. 00:08:44.080 --> 00:08:46.179 You lean upon them. 00:08:46.179 --> 00:08:50.179 In a manner characterized by ease, tranquility, and joy. 00:08:50.179 --> 00:08:53.179 Sitting face-to-face with one another. 00:08:53.179 --> 00:08:55.179 Your hearts have become purified. 00:08:55.179 --> 00:08:59.179 And love increased among you. 00:08:59.179 --> 00:09:03.179 You find harmony in your gathering with one another. 00:09:03.179 --> 00:09:06.299 Just as Allah the Exalted has said: 00:09:06.299 --> 00:09:09.299 Upon thrones, facing one another. 00:09:09.299 --> 00:09:12.370 Thus, meeting face-to-face. 00:09:12.370 --> 00:09:15.370 It points to the meeting of hearts. 00:09:15.370 --> 00:09:18.370 And observe proper conduct with one another. 00:09:18.370 --> 00:09:22.460 Therefore, let none of you look at the backs of one another. 00:09:22.460 --> 00:09:27.230 The family revolves around you however you wish. 00:09:27.230 --> 00:09:29.230 And this joy is intricately woven. 00:09:29.230 --> 00:09:32.230 Meaning, woven from gold. 00:09:32.230 --> 00:09:36.299 He has interwoven the threads of some with others. 00:09:36.299 --> 00:09:39.299 Interwoven with pearls and rubies. 00:09:39.299 --> 00:09:42.299 When the believer sits upon it. 00:09:42.299 --> 00:09:45.299 Through it, he ascended to the highest heights. 00:09:45.299 --> 00:09:48.360 Did Allah the Exalted not say: 00:09:48.360 --> 00:09:51.419 And raised couches. 00:09:51.419 --> 00:09:55.419 He also said regarding "on thrones woven with gold and jewels" 00:09:55.419 --> 00:10:01.519 Thus, it is in this state of splendor, beauty, and tranquility. 00:10:01.519 --> 00:10:06.029 And for you in Paradise, O people of Paradise. 00:10:06.029 --> 00:10:09.159 Cushions and carpets. 00:10:09.159 --> 00:10:13.159 This is among what Allah the Exalted has prepared for you therein. 00:10:13.159 --> 00:10:15.259 Allah the Exalted says: 00:10:15.259 --> 00:10:18.259 And cushions lined up in rows. 00:10:18.259 --> 00:10:21.539 And carpets spread out. 00:10:21.539 --> 00:10:24.539 The term *namariq* refers to cushions. 00:10:24.539 --> 00:10:27.539 That is, cushions made of silk and brocade. 00:10:27.539 --> 00:10:31.580 And other matters besides these, which none knows save Allah. 00:10:31.580 --> 00:10:35.580 They have been prepared for sitting and reclining upon. 00:10:35.580 --> 00:10:40.580 They have been spared the burden of having to define or describe these matters themselves. 00:10:40.580 --> 00:10:43.580 You do not need a row. 00:10:43.580 --> 00:10:47.580 It is laid out and requires no carpeting. 00:10:47.580 --> 00:10:51.580 It is a fabricated matter that does not require them to carry it. 00:10:51.580 --> 00:10:54.580 He exerts himself in spreading it out and folding it up. 00:10:54.580 --> 00:10:57.580 And re-storing them. 00:10:57.580 --> 00:10:59.799 Do not be tested. 00:10:59.799 --> 00:11:02.799 The zarabi are the fine, spread-out carpets. 00:11:02.799 --> 00:11:06.799 It is scattered here and there. 00:11:06.799 --> 00:11:09.799 It is present in every place. 00:11:09.799 --> 00:11:12.799 For whoever wishes to sit upon it. 00:11:12.799 --> 00:11:16.799 Their gatherings were filled with it from every side. 00:11:16.799 --> 00:11:22.059 So when you go for a stroll through your orchards and gardens, 00:11:22.059 --> 00:11:24.059 In the company of those you love. 00:11:24.059 --> 00:11:27.059 [They shall be served] by the fair-eyed maidens, the immortal youths, and their own children. 00:11:27.059 --> 00:11:31.059 You do not need carpets or cushions. 00:11:31.059 --> 00:11:34.059 You will find it ready for you, 00:11:34.059 --> 00:11:38.629 Prepared for your sake in every place. 00:11:38.629 --> 00:11:41.629 Reflect, O seeker of Paradise, 00:11:41.629 --> 00:11:45.629 On how Allah the Exalted described the couches as raised high, 00:11:45.629 --> 00:11:49.629 The carpets as spread out, 00:11:49.629 --> 00:11:52.629 And the cushions as lined up. 00:11:52.629 --> 00:11:57.860 The raising of the couches indicates their thickness and softness, 00:11:57.860 --> 00:12:01.860 The spreading of the carpets indicates their abundance, 00:12:01.860 --> 00:12:04.860 And that they are in every location. 00:12:04.860 --> 00:12:09.950 The description of the cushions indicates that they are prepared, 00:12:09.950 --> 00:12:12.950 For one to lean upon them at all times, 00:12:12.950 --> 00:12:17.950 Not hidden away or arranged only at certain times. 00:12:17.950 --> 00:12:21.659 Its construction consists of bricks of gold, 00:12:21.659 --> 00:12:25.659 And others of silver—two different types. 00:12:26.659 --> 00:12:30.659 Its palaces are made of pearl and chrysolite, 00:12:30.659 --> 00:12:34.659 Or silver, or pure refined gold, 00:12:34.659 --> 00:12:38.659 As well as pearls and rubies, 00:12:38.659 --> 00:12:42.750 Arranged in the structure with the utmost perfection. 00:12:42.750 --> 00:12:46.750 Its chambers in the air allow one to see their interior 00:12:46.750 --> 00:12:50.779 From their exterior, and their exterior from their interior. 00:12:50.779 --> 00:12:54.779 Its inhabitants are those who stood in prayer and fasted, 00:12:54.779 --> 00:12:58.009 Who entered through generosity and excellence. 00:12:58.009 --> 00:13:02.009 Two things are the exclusive right of Allah, the Glorified, 00:13:02.009 --> 00:13:06.039 And His servants also have two things. 00:13:06.039 --> 00:13:10.039 For the servant therein is a tent of pearl, 00:13:10.039 --> 00:13:14.039 Hollowed out, crafted by the Most Merciful. 00:13:14.039 --> 00:13:18.039 Sixty miles is its height in the air, 00:13:18.039 --> 00:13:21.100 And in every corner are the most beautiful of women. 00:13:21.100 --> 00:13:24.100 A veil covers them all, so they do not see 00:13:24.100 --> 00:13:28.100 One another; this is due to the vastness of the space. 00:13:28.100 --> 00:13:32.299 Within it are pavilions with doors of 00:13:32.299 --> 00:13:36.299 Gold and pearls, adorned with coral. 00:13:36.299 --> 00:13:40.299 Its tents are pitched in its gardens, 00:13:40.299 --> 00:13:44.299 And along the banks of the flowing rivers. 00:13:44.299 --> 00:13:48.299 In the tents are none but those who, if they were to face 00:13:48.299 --> 00:13:52.460 The sun and the moon, you would say they were eclipsed by them. 00:13:52.460 --> 00:13:56.460 To Allah belong those tents; how many 00:13:56.460 --> 00:14:00.549 Attachments and sorrows they stir in the heart! 00:14:00.549 --> 00:14:04.549 In them are houris, restraining their glances, 00:14:04.549 --> 00:14:08.549 Good and beautiful; they are the best of beauties. 00:14:08.549 --> 00:14:12.649 In it are thrones, which are couches, 00:14:12.649 --> 00:14:16.649 Upon which are canopies of many colors. 00:14:16.649 --> 00:14:21.740 O Allah, grant us Paradise and its bliss. 00:14:21.740 --> 00:14:25.740 O Allah, we ask You for the highest level of Paradise, 00:14:25.740 --> 00:14:29.740 Without reckoning or prior punishment. 00:14:29.740 --> 00:14:34.090 O Allah, answer our prayer; the journey continues. 00:14:34.090 --> 00:14:38.149 It is Paradise.
