In the Name of Allah, the entirely Merciful, the especially Merciful. The Summary of Tafsir al-Tabari, Abridged by Dr. 'Aqil Ibn Salim al-Shammari. Surah an-Nisa'. In the Name of Allah, the entirely Merciful, the especially Merciful. “Whoso migrateth for the cause of Allah will find much refuge and abundance in the earth, and whoso forsaketh his home, a fugitive unto Allah and His messenger, and death overtaketh him, his reward is then incumbent on Allah. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.” (4:100) ﴾...will find on the earth many places of refuge and abundance.﴿ “Whoso migrateth for the cause of Allah will find much refuge and abundance in the earth, and whoso forsaketh his home, a fugitive unto Allah and His messenger, and death overtaketh him, his reward is then incumbent on Allah. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.” (4:100) “Whoso migrateth for the cause of Allah will find much refuge and abundance in the earth, and whoso forsaketh his home, a fugitive unto Allah and His messenger, and death overtaketh him, his reward is then incumbent on Allah. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.” (4:100) ﴾And Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful.﴿ Whoever departs from the land of polytheism to the land of Islam, following the path and methodology of Allah's religion, this emigrant for the cause of Allah will find many places of refuge and escape, meaning vast spaces to move about in the land and diverse ways out. He will also find abundance in matters of his faith, abundance in sustenance, and relief from the constriction of distress, among other meanings of ample ease. Thus he earns the reward for his emigration. And Allah has ever been concealing the sins of His believing servants through pardon, being Merciful and gentle with them. “And when ye go forth in the land, it is no sin for you to curtail (your) worship if ye fear that those who disbelieve may attack you. In truth the disbelievers are an open enemy to you.” (4:101) “And when ye go forth in the land, it is no sin for you to curtail (your) worship if ye fear that those who disbelieve may attack you. In truth the disbelievers are an open enemy to you.” (4:101) “And when ye go forth in the land, it is no sin for you to curtail (your) worship if ye fear that those who disbelieve may attack you. In truth the disbelievers are an open enemy to you.” (4:101) "And when you travel throughout the land, O believers, there is no blame upon you for shortening the prayer," meaning reducing its prescribed limits, by not performing its bowings and prostrations in the usual complete manner, and being permitted to perform it in whatever way is possible, "if you fear that the disbelievers may attack you during your prayer." Their attacking them refers to launching an assault against them while they are prostrating, so that they might kill them or take them captive, thereby preventing them from establishing and performing it, and coming between them and the worship of Allah and the sincere devotion to His oneness. Indeed, those who deny the oneness of Allah have ever been an enemy to you, having made their enmity toward you plain and clear. “And when thou (O Muhammad) art among them and arrangest (their) worship for them, let only a party of them stand with thee (to worship) and let them take their arms. Then when they have performed their prostrations let them fall to the rear and let another party come that hath not worshipped and let them worship with thee, and let them take their precaution and their arms. Those who disbelieve long for you to neglect your arms and your baggage that they may attack you once for all. It is no sin for you to lay aside your arms, if rain impedeth you or ye are sick. But take your precaution. Lo! Allah prepareth for the disbelievers shameful punishment.” (4:102) ﴾...let a party of them stand with you,﴿ ﴾...let a party of them stand with you,﴿ ﴾and let them take their weapons.﴿ “And when thou (O Muhammad) art among them and arrangest (their) worship for them, let only a party of them stand with thee (to worship) and let them take their arms.
