I got ready and went out with them
I was hiding among the army ranks
So that no one would notice me
My brother Saad saw me
And he said
Why, my brother, are you hiding between the ranks?
So I said
I fear that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, will see me
He looks down on me and rejects me
And I love going out
Perhaps God will grant me martyrdom
When the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, reviewed the army
He saw me and looked down on me and returned me
So I cried
When he saw him, may God bless him and grant him peace, crying
I was keen to participate
He allowed me
So Saad, my brother, used to hold the straps of my sword for me in my hand
This is due to the length of the sword and my short stature
And when the two rows meet
I set off towards the enemy
I want to die painfully
So I began to slash with my sword every polytheist who met me
Until I received a blow from Omar bin Wad

I was among the first to fall as a martyr on the battlefield
I am sixteen years old
