So I went out to him, coming from my people

I met his friends before I met him
They told me
The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, gave us good news about you
Three days before it came to us
Then I met him, may God bless him and grant him peace
He welcomed me and entered my seat
He spread his robe for me
So he made me sit on it
Then call the people and gather to him
Then he went up to the pulpit
And he brought me up with him, and I called him
Then he thanked and praised God
Then he said
Oh people
This man
He came to you from a distant land
From the country of Hadhramout
There came to you neither fear nor desire
He came out of love for God and His Messenger
Be kind to him
It is a recent covenant with the king
Then he told me
You are the rest of the sons of kings
May God bless you and your son
And in your son's son
Then he came down from the pulpit and I went down with him
So I said, O Messenger of God
My family defeated me in my rights
And he said
I give you double
The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, commanded me
In a house in the city
And the command of Muawiyah Ibn Abi Sufyan, may God be pleased with him
To show me my house
So I went out riding my camel
Muawiyah went out walking
Even if we are in some way
Muawiyah told me
Follow me behind you
So I said
Don't be one of the buttocks of kings
And he said
Then give me your slipper
I said
If you live in the shadow of a camel
I would not have been stingy in offering him a compliment
Or give him my shoe
But I hated to be second-guessed by him
At that time, I was new to Islam
Then when Muawiyah took over the Levant
I came to him
So he made me sit with him on the bed
He reminded me of my position with him
So I was ashamed of him
I wish I had held it in my hands
