The Enduring Righteous Deeds: The Reward for Congregational Prayer On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said: "A man's prayer offered in congregation is multiplied twenty-five times over his prayer offered in his house or in his market. That is because when he performs ablution and does so thoroughly, then leaves for the mosque solely to perform the prayer, he does not take a single step except that he is raised a degree in rank thereby, and a sin is removed from him because of it. Then, once he prays, the angels continue to supplicate for him as long as he remains in his place of prayer, saying: 'O Allah, send blessings upon him; O Allah, have mercy upon him.' And one of you remains in a state of prayer as long as he is waiting for the prayer." Narrated by al-Bukhari.
