In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. It is Paradise. The women of Paradise. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. And may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad. And upon all his family and companions. To proceed: O people of Paradise, When you enter Paradise, And your wives from the worldly life were righteous, Then they shall be your wives in Paradise as well. For Allah, the Exalted, has informed us, saying: “Gardens of Eden which they enter, along with all who do right of their fathers and their helpmeets and their seed. The angels enter unto them from every gate,” (13:23) When they enter it with you, That which is within them shall be transformed, Just as is the case with the men. Everyone shall be transformed, To be fit for entry into Paradise. Among the transformations that occur to them in Paradise upon entering, Is that they shall be young virgins, All of them of the same age. There is no old woman or widow in Paradise. For Allah, the Exalted, has informed us That He restores them to the age of youth, At the age of thirty-three years. Have you not heard the report of the old woman who came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, Pray to Allah that He admits me into Paradise." He replied: "O mother of so-and-so, Paradise is not entered by an old woman." She turned away weeping, So he said: "Tell her That she will not enter it while she is old." For Allah, the Exalted, says: ﴾Indeed, We have produced them in a [new] creation﴿ ﴾And made them virgins,﴿ ﴾Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age.﴿ Meaning: We have created them in a creation other than the one that existed in the worldly life. This is a perfect creation that is not subject to decay. "And made them virgins," meaning both the young and the old among them. The description of virginity is inherent to them in all circumstances. Every time her husband comes to her, he finds her a virgin. "Devoted" (uruban), affectionate to her husband through the beauty of her speech, And the beauty of her appearance and her coquetry, And her beauty and her playfulness. Among the changes that occur to the women of Paradise Is that jealousy is removed from their hearts. They are harmonious, pleased, and pleasing. They do not grieve, nor are they grieved. They are the joy of the souls and the coolness of the eyes. Every man among the people of Paradise has two wives from the women of the world, or more. This is in addition to the Houris. For the Prophet (peace be upon him) informed us, saying: "A man among them shall enter upon seventy-two of those whom Allah creates, And two from the daughters of Adam. They have a superiority over those whom Allah creates, Due to their worship of Allah in the worldly life." Thus, the women of the world shall be more beautiful than the Houris in Paradise, Because the believing woman in the world practiced patience and perseverance, And labored, worshipped, remembered Allah, and supplicated, And believed and performed righteous deeds, And entered Paradise as a reward for her work and her excellence. As for the Houris, Allah created them in Paradise as a reward and recompense for its people. Therefore, the woman who enters Paradise from the people of the world becomes more beautiful and better, And higher in status and rank than the Houri created in Paradise. The former is a queen and a lady, And the latter, despite the greatness of her status and beauty, Is undoubtedly below the queen. O people of Paradise, This is the state of your wives from the world in Paradise. As for your wives from among the Houris, If one of them were to appear to the people of the earth, She would illuminate everything between them, And fill it with fragrance. And the veil upon her head is better than the world and all that is in it. It is sufficient as a testimony to their dazzling beauty, And that it has reached the pinnacle of grace and the limit of beauty, That Allah testified to this, saying: ﴾In them are good and beautiful women.﴿ "Hoor" is the plural of "hawra," Which is the young, beautiful, fair woman. Pure in color and skin due to her whiteness, Intense in the whiteness of the eye and the blackness of the pupil. "Ayn" is the plural of "ayna," Which is the woman with large eyes, Whose eyes have gathered the qualities of beauty and charm. Among the beauties of a woman is the wideness of her eye. Allah, the Exalted, has likened them to pearls kept hidden. He said: ﴾And [they are] fair ones with wide, [beautiful] eyes, as the likeness of pearls well-protected.﴿ The "pearls well-protected" are those preserved, which have not been taken out of their shells. They are at the height of beauty, splendor, and radiance. Regarding these Houris, Allah, the Exalted, said in describing them: ﴾As if they were rubies and coral.﴿ Meaning in the clarity of the ruby and the whiteness of the coral. The Houris have white, clear skin like a mirror; One looks at his face in her cheek, clearer than a mirror. And the lowest pearl upon her Would illuminate everything between the East and the West. And she shall have seventy garments upon her, Yet his sight penetrates them until he sees the marrow of her shin from behind that. He sees the marrow of their shins from behind the flesh due to their beauty. They are also purified from impurities and filth. Allah, the Exalted, said: “And give glad tidings (O Muhammad) unto those who believe and do good works; that theirs are Gardens underneath which rivers flow; as often as they are regaled with food of the fruit thereof, they say: this is what was given us aforetime; and it is given to them in resemblance. There for them are pure companions; there for ever they abide.” (2:25) Meaning purified from filth and harm. They do not menstruate, nor do they have postnatal bleeding. They do not spit, nor do they urinate, nor do they defecate. They do not menstruate, nor do they give birth. And they are purified from sins and bad character as well. They are virgins, Untouched by any human or jinn before them. Meaning no one has had intercourse with them or approached them before them. And when a man has intercourse with his Houri in Paradise, She returns as a virgin as she was. And each one of us in Paradise has seventy-two Houris. Every time he sees one of them, He thinks she is better than the one before her. He does not grow weary of them, nor do they grow weary of him. They have restrained their gaze upon their husbands, So they do not desire anyone else, nor do they want anyone else. They see nothing in Paradise more beautiful than their husbands. A man in Paradise has intercourse with his wives from among the Houris, And he is given the strength of a hundred men in eating and drinking, And in desire and intercourse. Allah, the Exalted, said: “Lo! those who merit paradise this day are happily employed,” (36:55) They are occupied with the hearing of melodies and the deflowering of virgins. O people of Paradise, Have you seen the bright light in Paradise? It has a shimmer and a sparkle, Its splendor captivates the eyes. Have you seen it when you raised your heads in wonder and amazement at it? We asked the angels about this light, And they informed us that a Houri smiled in the face of her husband, And the light shone from her smile. O brothers of the Gardens, If this is the state of a smile, Then what do you think of a woman when she laughs in the face of her husband? Paradise is illuminated by her laughter. And if she moves from one palace to another, You would say, "This is the sun moving in the constellations of its orbit." And if she converses with her husband, Meaning she entertains him with speech and chats, Then how beautiful is that conversation! And if she embraces him, Then what delight is in that embrace and holding! Her speech is lawful magic. If it is long, it does not bore. And if she sings, then what a delight for the eyes and ears! And if she keeps him company and brings him joy, Then how wonderful is that companionship and enjoyment! This Houri, If she sings to her husband, The trees sway due to the beauty of her voice, And the leaves clap due to its sweetness, And the ear is enraptured by that hearing. Allah, the Exalted, said: ﴾Enter Paradise, you and your wives, being delighted.﴿ And "hubur" (delight) is pleasure and joy. O suitor of the beautiful Houris and seeker Of their union in the Garden of Eternity, If you knew whom you were courting and whom you were seeking, You would have sacrificed all the wealth you possess. Or if you knew where her dwelling was, You would have made your journey to her upon your eyelashes. Hasten and urge your journey with all your might, for This journey of yours is but for a short time. So love, and let your soul speak of the union, And offer her dowry while you have the ability. O Allah, we ask You for Paradise and its bliss. O Allah, we ask You for the highest Firdaws of Paradise, Without reckoning and without torment. O Allah, amen. And the journey has a continuation. It is Paradise.
