The Garden of Guidance Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said: "O you who have believed, persevere, endure, remain stationed, and fear Allah that you may succeed." And on the authority of Abu Kabshah al-Anmari (may Allah be pleased with him), he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "There are three things concerning which I swear, and I shall narrate a hadith to you, so memorize it." He said: "A servant's wealth is never diminished by charity; no servant suffers an injustice and patiently endures it except that Allah increases him in honor; and no servant opens the door of begging except that Allah opens for him the door of poverty" — or words to that effect. Narrated by al-Tirmidhi. A man once came to Yunus ibn 'Ubayd (may Allah have mercy on him), complaining to him of his straitened circumstances and livelihood, and expressing his grief over that. So he said to him: "Would it please you to have a hundred thousand in exchange for your eyesight?" He replied, "No." He said, "What about your hearing?" He replied, "No." He said, "What about your tongue?" He replied, "No." He said, "What about your intellect?" He replied, "No." And he continued to remind him of the blessings of Allah upon him. Then Yunus said: "I see that you possess hundreds of thousands, yet you complain of poverty!"
