The nuclear forty
On the authority of Ibn Omar, may God be pleased with them both, he said
The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, was taken by someone who was old and said
Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a passerby
Ibn Omar, may God be pleased with them, used to say:
If it is evening, do not wait for the morning
If you wake up, don't wait for the evening
Take from your health your illness
From your life to your death
Narrated by Al-Bukhari
This hadith shows the reality of the world
It is a temporary stage and there is no decision-making place
He calls on the Muslim not to become attached to it
And not to be preoccupied with its decorations
Rather, preparing for the afterlife and working for it
The believer lives there like a stranger
Who does not make it a permanent home
Or like a traveler whose only concern is reaching his destination
The hadith fosters asceticism and limited hope
And invest time in obedience
And not to be heedless of the final fate
