A new challenge from me
I am one of the companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace
From the Azdi Shanwa tribe from Yemen
When I was young, I loved seeking knowledge
I was a doctor who treated people and promoted them from harm
For this reason, I had learned something from the knowledge of soothsayers and magicians
I was a friend of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, during pre-Islamic times
I once made a pilgrimage to Mecca
I heard the infidels of Quraish saying that Muhammad was crazy
I was amazed at what I heard and thought to myself
If you come to this man who they say is crazy
So I healed him and came to him and told him
O Muhammad, I am more refined than these spirits
And God heals at the hands of whomever He wishes
May I promote you?
The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said
Praise be to God, we praise Him and seek His help
Whoever God guides, there is no one who can lead him astray
And whoever leads astray, there is no guide for him
I bear witness that there is no god but God alone, with no partner
And that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger
Now when I heard that
I straightened my seat and said
Repeat these words to me
So he, may God bless him and grant him peace, repeated them three times
I said, “By God, I heard what the priests said.”
And I heard the magicians say
And I heard what the poets said
I have never heard such words
So extend your hand and I will pledge allegiance to you on Islam
So he extended his hand and I pledged allegiance to him
Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to me
And pledge allegiance to Islam on behalf of your people
So I said, “And my people.”
So I pledged allegiance to Islam for myself and my people
So I returned to my people and invited them to Islam
So they all converted to Islam, so who am I?
