Confirmed practices from the Sunnah of the Prophet. Supplicating when putting on a new garment. Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) put on a new garment, he would call it by its name— whether a shirt or a turban— and then he would say: "O Allah, to You belongs all praise; You have clothed me with it. I ask You for its good and the good for which it was made, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil for which it was made."
