Forty hadiths on the virtue of charity.
On the authority of Shaddad Ibn Aws, who said:
I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say:
"Whoever grants respite to someone in financial difficulty or remits their debt,"
"Allah will shade him in His shade on the Day of Resurrection."
Recorded by al-Tabarani.
And authenticated by al-Albani.
As for his saying, "grants respite to someone in financial difficulty,"
It means he waits for him and extends the deadline for payment.
Or "remits their debt,"
Meaning he waives his right to the money.
"Allah will shade him in His shade on the Day of Resurrection,"
Meaning Allah the Exalted will shade him under the shade of the Throne on the Day of Resurrection.
