I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
“Nay, I swear by this city -” (90:1)
“And thou art an indweller of this city -” (90:2)
And by a parent and what he begot.
“We verily have created man in an atmosphere:” (90:4)
Does he think that no one has power over him?
“And he saith: I have destroyed vast wealth:” (90:6)
“Thinketh he that none beholdeth him?” (90:7)
“Did We not assign unto him two eyes” (90:8)
And a tongue and two lips?
And We have shown him the two ways.
And what will make you understand what the steep path is?

It is the freeing of a slave.
Or feeding on a day of severe hunger.
An orphan of near kinship.
“Or some poor wretch in misery,” (90:16)
Then he is among those who have believed.
“And to be of those who believe and exhort one another to perseverance and exhort one another to pity.” (90:17)
Those are the companions of the right.
But those who disbelieved in Our verses.
They are the companions of the left.
Over them is a fire closed in.
