WEBVTT 00:00:00.400 --> 00:00:03.399 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 00:00:03.399 --> 00:00:11.560 Within the embrace of Allah, happiness pours into the hearts. 00:00:11.560 --> 00:00:15.560 Draw ever closer to the Most Merciful. 00:00:15.560 --> 00:00:18.559 The Muhammad Ibn Abd al-Aziz al-Musa Mosque. 00:00:18.559 --> 00:00:21.559 In al-Badi', presents: 00:00:21.559 --> 00:00:24.559 The Musk of the Discourse. 00:00:24.559 --> 00:00:26.559 By Sheikh Usama Bahr. 00:00:26.559 --> 00:00:28.559 May Allah preserve him. 00:00:28.559 --> 00:00:35.560 Whoever obeys the Lord dissolves into the sweetest of feelings. 00:00:35.560 --> 00:00:40.670 A secret between the servant and his Lord. 00:00:40.670 --> 00:00:43.670 The Prophet, peace be upon him, narrates to us: 00:00:43.670 --> 00:00:46.670 That the Children of Israel once suffered a drought. 00:00:46.670 --> 00:00:49.670 So Musa, peace and blessings be upon him, went out, 00:00:49.670 --> 00:00:51.670 With seventy thousand of his people, 00:00:51.670 --> 00:00:53.670 Among them the bowing elders, 00:00:53.670 --> 00:00:55.670 The nursing infants, 00:00:55.670 --> 00:00:57.670 And the grazing livestock. 00:00:57.670 --> 00:00:59.670 He called upon Allah and beseeched Him, 00:00:59.670 --> 00:01:03.670 Yet the sky only grew clearer and more cloudless. 00:01:03.670 --> 00:01:05.670 Then he called upon Him and beseeched Him again, 00:01:05.670 --> 00:01:10.670 Yet the sky only grew clearer and more cloudless. 00:01:10.670 --> 00:01:12.670 Then Allah revealed to Musa: 00:01:12.670 --> 00:01:17.670 "Among you is a servant who has been warring against Me with sins for forty years. 00:01:17.670 --> 00:01:21.670 I will not grant you rain until he departs from among you." 00:01:21.670 --> 00:01:23.769 Oh, for the sake of Allah! 00:01:23.769 --> 00:01:25.769 They were denied the rain of the heavens 00:01:25.769 --> 00:01:28.769 Because of the sin of one of them. 00:01:28.769 --> 00:01:33.769 If only we knew that sins have consequences that affect others. 00:01:33.769 --> 00:01:38.769 Therefore, every sinner is a cause of the weakness of this Ummah. 00:01:38.769 --> 00:01:40.900 Musa asked: 00:01:40.900 --> 00:01:42.900 "How shall I identify him?" 00:01:42.900 --> 00:01:43.900 He replied: 00:01:43.900 --> 00:01:44.900 "O Musa, 00:01:44.900 --> 00:01:46.900 Call out, and it is for Us to convey the message." 00:01:46.900 --> 00:01:49.900 So Musa called out to his people: 00:01:49.900 --> 00:01:51.900 "Indeed, there is a servant among us 00:01:51.900 --> 00:01:56.900 Who has disobeyed Allah and warred against Him with sins for forty years, 00:01:56.900 --> 00:01:58.900 And Allah will not grant us rain 00:01:58.900 --> 00:02:01.900 Until this sinner departs from among us." 00:02:01.900 --> 00:02:03.900 The message reached everyone. 00:02:03.900 --> 00:02:06.900 The people of Musa heard what he said to them. 00:02:06.900 --> 00:02:08.900 And the one who had disobeyed Allah 00:02:08.900 --> 00:02:10.900 Recognized himself. 00:02:10.900 --> 00:02:12.900 He looked to his right and to his left, 00:02:12.900 --> 00:02:16.900 Hoping someone else would step forward, but no one did. 00:02:16.900 --> 00:02:18.900 And if he were to step forward, 00:02:18.900 --> 00:02:21.900 It would be a public scandal for him before the masses. 00:02:21.900 --> 00:02:23.900 So what did he do? 00:02:23.900 --> 00:02:26.090 He covered his head with his garment, 00:02:26.090 --> 00:02:29.090 And called upon his Lord, beseeching Him, 00:02:29.090 --> 00:02:30.090 Saying: 00:02:30.090 --> 00:02:32.090 "O Lord, 00:02:32.090 --> 00:02:34.090 You have shielded me for forty years, 00:02:34.090 --> 00:02:37.090 So do not disgrace me today before Your servants. 00:02:37.090 --> 00:02:41.090 I seek Your forgiveness and repent to You." 00:02:41.090 --> 00:02:43.340 It was but a few moments, 00:02:43.340 --> 00:02:46.340 Before the sky became overcast with clouds, 00:02:46.340 --> 00:02:49.340 And rained down upon them a torrential downpour. 00:02:49.340 --> 00:02:51.340 The earth overflowed with it, 00:02:51.340 --> 00:02:53.340 The roads were filled with it, 00:02:53.340 --> 00:02:55.340 And the valleys flowed with it. 00:02:55.340 --> 00:02:58.379 Musa asked in astonishment: 00:02:58.379 --> 00:03:01.379 "O Lord, no one among us stepped forward, 00:03:01.379 --> 00:03:03.379 So how have You granted us rain?" 00:03:03.379 --> 00:03:06.379 Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, replied: 00:03:06.379 --> 00:03:08.379 "It was because of him that I withheld the rain from you, 00:03:08.379 --> 00:03:10.379 And it is because of him that I have granted you rain." 00:03:10.379 --> 00:03:12.379 Musa asked: 00:03:12.379 --> 00:03:14.379 "O Lord, who is this servant 00:03:14.379 --> 00:03:16.379 For whose sake You withheld it from us, 00:03:16.379 --> 00:03:18.379 And for whose sake You have granted us rain?" 00:03:18.379 --> 00:03:20.379 Allah replied: 00:03:20.379 --> 00:03:22.379 "O Musa, 00:03:22.379 --> 00:03:24.379 I shielded him while he was a sinner, 00:03:24.379 --> 00:03:27.379 So how could I disgrace him after he has repented?" 00:03:27.379 --> 00:03:29.599 A magnificent story. 00:03:29.599 --> 00:03:33.599 How much we are in need of its lessons today. 00:03:33.599 --> 00:03:35.599 Is it not enough for us? 00:03:35.599 --> 00:03:37.599 “They question thee (O Muhammad) concerning menstruation. Say: It is an illness, so let women alone at such times and go not in unto them till they are cleansed. And when they have purified themselves, then go in unto them as Allah hath enjoined upon you.
