Forty Hadiths on the Virtues of Charity.
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
"The servant says, 'My wealth, my wealth!'
Yet he owns nothing of his wealth except what he eats and consumes,
or wears out until it is threadbare,
or gives in charity and thus sends forth.
Whatever is beyond that will fade away, and he leaves it behind for others."
