A summary of the concepts held by the Ahl al-Sunnah.
The security of all humanity.
It suffices to illustrate this concept with the words of Allah the Exalted:
“We sent thee not save as a mercy for the peoples.” (21:107)
And His words, Mighty and Majestic is He:
“Alif. Lam. Ra. (This is) a Scripture which We have revealed unto thee (Muhammad) that thereby thou mayst bring forth mankind from darkness unto light, by the permission of their Lord, unto the path of the Mighty, the Owner of Praise,” (14:1)
What has been previously explained regarding the security of individuals and societies
Is but a part of the security of humanity and the entire world.
If only they would adopt it and submit to its rulings.
This meaning was summarized by Rib'i Ibn 'Amir, may Allah be pleased with him,
When the Persian commander asked him about the reason for their invasion and jihad.
He replied: "Allah has sent us to bring forth whomsoever He wills from the worship of servants to the worship of the Lord of servants,
From the oppression of religions to the justice of Islam,
And from the straitness of this world to the vastness of this world and the Hereafter."
And in the shadow of the words of Allah the Exalted:
“O People of the Scripture! Now hath Our messenger come unto you, expounding unto you much of that which ye used to hide in the Scripture, and forgiving much. now hath come unto you light from Allah and plain Scripture,” (5:15)
“Whereby Allah guideth him who seeketh His good pleasure unto paths of peace. He bringeth them out of darkness unto light by His decree, and guideth them unto a straight path.” (5:16)
The author of *Fi Zilal al-Qur'an*, may Allah have mercy upon him, says:
How precise and truthful this expression is!
It is peace.
It is what this religion pours into all of life.
The peace of the individual, the peace of the community, and the peace of the world.
The peace of the conscience, the peace of the mind, and the peace of the limbs.
The peace of the home, the family, the society, the Ummah, and the peace of mankind and humanity.
Peace with life.
Peace with the universe.
And peace with Allah, the Lord of the universe and life.
The peace that humanity does not find, and has never found, except in this religion,
And in its methodology and its Shari'ah.
No one realizes the depth of this truth
As does one who has tasted the paths of war in the ancient and modern days of ignorance (Jahiliyyah).
And one who has tasted the war of anxiety arising from the creeds of Jahiliyyah,
And the war of anxiety arising from the laws and systems of Jahiliyyah,
And their floundering in the affairs of life.
This confirms for us that divine Sunnah and legal truth
Which dictates that there is no security and no peace,
And no happiness in this world, except in the shadow of Islam,
Which is based on the oneness of Allah, Mighty and Majestic is He,
Worshipping Him alone with no partner, and implementing His law.
For if this is not the case,
Then humanity will never taste the flavor of security, nor the flavor of peace, prosperity, and tranquility.
So praise be to Allah who has guided us to Islam,
And we would not have been guided had Allah not guided us.
Among the duties of thanking Allah, Mighty and Majestic is He, for the blessing of Islam
Is that we preserve it,
And that we avoid the causes of its loss.
Just as it is among the duties of thanking Him for it
To strive to convey this blessing to those of humanity who have been deprived of it, as much as possible,
Through the jihad of proclamation and clarification,
Or through the jihad of the sword and the spear,
Which removes from its path the tyrants
Who prevent those behind them from the truth.
At that point, the ultimate goal of jihad in the way of Allah the Exalted becomes clear to us:
That it came only as a mercy to the worlds,
And to bring them out from darkness into light,
And that it came for the security and welfare of humanity,
Just as Rib'i Ibn 'Amir, may Allah be pleased with him, stated in the previous account.
