A summary of the concepts held by the Ahl al-Sunnah.
Gratitude for blessings.
Every individual ought to thank Allah the Exalted for the blessings He has bestowed upon them.
One should not be deluded by what they possess, nor attribute it to their own merit.
Rather, one must attribute the grace of all such things back to Allah.
For expressing gratitude for a blessing is the very cause of its preservation and increase.
Just as the Exalted says:
"If you are grateful, I will surely increase you."
One should also know that Allah the Almighty derives no benefit from this gratitude.
Rather, the benefit of such gratitude returns to the person themselves.
For Sulayman, peace be upon him, said when the throne of the Queen of Sheba was brought to him:
“One with whom was knowledge of the Scripture said: I will bring it thee before thy gaze returneth unto thee. And when he saw it set in his presence, (Solomon) said: This is of the bounty of my Lord, that He may try me whether I give thanks or am ungrateful. Whosoever giveth thanks he only giveth thanks for (the good of) his own soul; and whosoever is ungrateful (is ungrateful only to his own soul's hurt). For lo! my Lord is Absolute in independence, Bountiful.” (27:40)

Gratitude is expressed through the heart, the tongue, and one's physical actions.
