The nuclear forty
On the authority of Abu Hurairah Abd al-Rahman bin Sakhr, may God be pleased with him, he said
I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, say
Whatever I have forbidden you, avoid it, and whatever I have commanded you, do as much of it as you can
For those before you were destroyed by their many questions and their disagreement with their unbelievers
Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim
This hadith sets a great rule in Sharia law
It is that abandoning forbidden things is absolutely obligatory
As for carrying out orders, it is according to the person’s ability and ability
Because Islam is a religion of ease and mercy, and it does not burden the soul with what it cannot bear
The hadith also shows that excessive questioning and strictness may cause hardship
Therefore, a Muslim should adhere to what the Sharia has stated without exaggeration or complexity
And work in obedience as much as possible, while being careful to avoid sins
