1
00:00:00,820 --> 00:00:03,819
A hadith and commentary.

2
00:00:03,819 --> 00:00:13,740
It is narrated in an authentic hadith that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, asked for some food to eat.

3
00:00:13,740 --> 00:00:19,800
They could find nothing for him but some loaves of bread, so they brought them to him.

4
00:00:19,800 --> 00:00:29,800
He asked, "Do you have any condiment?"—meaning a side dish such as meat, broth, oil, or the like.

5
00:00:29,800 --> 00:00:33,799
They replied, "We have nothing but vinegar."

6
00:00:33,799 --> 00:00:38,829
He ordered them to bring it, and he began to eat with it, saying:

7
00:00:38,829 --> 00:00:41,829
"What an excellent condiment is vinegar."

8
00:00:41,829 --> 00:00:45,090
"What an excellent condiment is vinegar."

9
00:00:45,090 --> 00:00:47,090
Commentary.

10
00:00:47,090 --> 00:00:50,090
Imam Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

11
00:00:50,090 --> 00:00:55,090
He said that to comfort and please the heart of the one who provided it.

12
00:00:55,090 --> 00:00:59,119
May the prayers, peace, and blessings of Allah be upon him.
