Nullified interests
These are interests that the Sharia has testified to invalidating and rejecting.
Among these is
the interest of acquiring wealth through usury, gambling, or games of chance.
The Sharia has invalidated this by prohibiting both usury and gambling.
Likewise, the perceived interest in prohibiting polygyny,
due to the anticipated harm of problems and jealousy between co-wives,
the Sharia has disregarded this interest and not considered it, in pursuit of a higher interest.
This higher interest is increasing offspring, enabling chastity, and safeguarding the self.
