So I said, 00:35:38.969 --> 00:35:41.969 "O my mother, what prevents you 00:35:41.969 --> 00:35:44.969 from accepting Islam and following him, 00:35:44.969 --> 00:35:48.000 when your brother Hamzah has already embraced Islam?" 00:35:48.000 --> 00:35:51.000 She said, "I am waiting to see what my sisters will do, 00:35:51.000 --> 00:35:54.059 and then I shall join them." 00:35:54.059 --> 00:35:57.059 I said, "I implore you by Allah 00:35:57.059 --> 00:36:00.059 to go to him, greet him with peace, 00:36:00.059 --> 00:36:03.059 believe in him, and testify 00:36:03.059 --> 00:36:06.130 that there is no god but Allah." 00:36:06.130 --> 00:36:09.130 She said, "Then I bear witness 00:36:09.130 --> 00:36:12.130 that there is no god but Allah, 00:36:12.130 --> 00:36:15.260 and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." 00:36:15.260 --> 00:36:18.260 Thereafter, she used to defend the Prophet, peace be upon him. 00:36:19.260 --> 00:36:22.260 Once, she grabbed a camel's jawbone 00:36:22.260 --> 00:36:26.119 and struck someone with it 00:36:26.119 --> 00:36:29.119 until he fell drenched in his own blood. 00:36:29.119 --> 00:36:32.119 One day, I saw Abu Jahl 00:36:32.119 --> 00:36:35.119 accosting the Prophet, peace be upon him, 00:36:35.119 --> 00:36:38.119 accompanied by a number of disbelievers from Quraysh, 00:36:38.119 --> 00:36:41.150 and they harmed him 00:36:41.150 --> 00:36:44.150 and tormented him, 00:36:44.150 --> 00:36:47.150 severely abusing him, 00:36:47.150 --> 00:36:50.150 inflicting injury upon him. 00:36:50.150 --> 00:36:53.150 So I went straight to Abu Jahl 00:36:53.150 --> 00:36:56.150 and struck him a blow that fractured his skull. 00:36:56.150 --> 00:36:59.150 They seized me and tied me up, 00:36:59.150 --> 00:37:02.150 but my maternal uncle Abu Lahab intervened 00:37:02.150 --> 00:37:05.150 until he freed me from their grip. 00:37:05.150 --> 00:37:08.150 He then said to my mother, "Do you not see your son? 00:37:08.150 --> 00:37:11.219 He has made himself a shield defending Muhammad!" 00:37:11.219 --> 00:37:14.219 She replied, "It is the best day of his life, 00:37:14.219 --> 00:37:17.219 for he has brought the truth from Allah." 00:37:17.219 --> 00:37:20.340 They said, 00:37:20.340 --> 00:37:23.340 "Have you also followed Muhammad?" 00:37:23.340 --> 00:37:26.730 She replied, "Yes."
