In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. The Muhammad Ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz al-Musa Mosque in al-Badi' presents Musk al-Khitab by Sheikh Usama Bahr, may Allah preserve him. "The time for sleep has passed, O Khadijah." Seriousness in life is a fundamental requirement. For the more a person is serious in their work, the more confident and successful they become. As for the hesitant person, you will find them lacking confidence in themselves, and they often see failure looming before them. The noble Qur'anic verse finds them, and the noble Qur'anic verse comes to say: "So when you have finished, then stand up [for worship]." It addresses the Messenger, peace be upon him, regarding seriousness and diligence in the call to Allah. Through this, it emphasizes the extent of seriousness in one's work. The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, says to Khadijah: "The time for sleep has passed, O Khadijah." Indeed, seriousness is the fuel for work; for work comes to a halt without seriousness, just as a machine stops without fuel. Among the evidence of seriousness in work is what happened on the day of Badr, when there came to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, two young boys, Samurah Ibn Jundub and Rafi' Ibn Khadij, may Allah be pleased with them both, asking him to join the army of the Muslims. However, the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, turned them away due to their young age. Samurah said, "O Messenger of Allah, I am skilled with arrows, and my aim does not miss." He then shot an arrow before the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and hit the target, so the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, accepted him. Then Rafi' said, "O Messenger of Allah, I can wrestle Samurah," and he wrestled him before the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and threw him to the ground, so he accepted him into the army. They used to tie their swords to their hands with rags because of their young age. This is the seriousness we seek today, in the face of the lethargy and laziness of youth who have become accustomed to finding all their demands and desires provided for them without the slightest effort or diligence. To such young people, we say: "The time for sleep has passed, O Khadijah." In the presence of Allah, happiness pours into the hearts. Increase your closeness to the Most Merciful so that joy may embrace you. Attach your soul to your Lord and fill the surroundings with light. Whoever obeys the Almighty dissolves into the sweetest feeling. Darkness, then light, and revelation follows it; if Allah wills a thing, He says "Be," and it comes to be.
