In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Conclusion from Al-Tabari’s interpretation It was summarized by Dr. Aqeel bin Salem Al-Shammar Surat Al-Muzzammil In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Oh, you who are humble! Stay up all night except for a little while Half of it or a little less Or add to it and recite the Qur’an in a resonant manner O you, the one who is wrapped in his clothes He is the Prophet of God, may God bless him and grant him peace Stay up all night, O Muhammad, except a little of it Get up at midnight Or less than half of it a little Or add to it And make the Qur’an clear to me, when you read it, you will clearly understand it and be guided in it We will give you a heavy word The beginning of the night is the most severe and the strongest You have a long praise during the day We will deliver to you a heavy and loaded statement The work is heavy with its limits and obligations The hours of the night are more stable than the days and are firmer in the heart O Muhammad, you have a long free time during the day in which you expand and change And remember the name of your Lord and seek Him with complete devotion Lord of the East and the West, there is no god but Him, so take Him as a representative Be patient with what they say and abandon them with grace And remember, O Muhammad, the name of your Lord, and call upon Him by it And devote yourself to Him to fulfill your needs and worship to the exclusion of all other things Lord of the people of the East, the West, and the world in between No god but God should be worshiped So take him as your agent in what he commands you and delegate your reasons to him And be patient, O Muhammad, with what the polytheists from your people say to you and their harm And abandoning them for the sake of God is a beautiful abandonment Leave me and the liars, the recipients of grace, and give them a little reprieve We have ankala and hell And bitter food and painful torment So leave me, O Muhammad, and those who deny My verses, the people of luxury in this world And He will delay them with the torment which He has inflicted on them for a little while until the prescribed time is reached Indeed, We have for those who deny Our signs chains and a burning Fire And food that makes the eater suffocate It is neither coming down from his throat nor coming out of it A painful and excruciating torment On the day when the earth and the mountains would shake, and the mountains would be huge dunes We have these polytheists from Quraish who are harming you, O Muhammad The punishments he described on the day the earth and the mountains tremble The mountains were scattered liquid sand We have sent to you a messenger as a witness over you, just as We sent a messenger to Pharaoh So Pharaoh disobeyed the Messenger, so we seized him with a harsh punishment We have sent to you, O people, a messenger as a witness over you With the response of those of you who responded to my invitation and the refusal of those of you who refused to answer The day you meet me in the Resurrection Like We sent before you to the Pharaoh of Egypt a messenger calling him to the truth Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger we sent to him So we seized him severely and destroyed him and all those with him So how can you fear the Day when children become grey? The sky was broken by him, his promise was fulfilled O people, how do you fear a day when children will turn gray if you disbelieve in God and do not believe in Him? The sky was heavy that day, cracked and cracked Whatever God promised to do would be effective because He does not break His promise This is a reminder, so whoever wishes may take a way to his Lord These are the verses in which the matter of the Resurrection and its horrors are mentioned What is done in it to the people of disbelief is an example and an admonition to those who consider it and a lesson Whoever wants to take a path to his Lord by believing in Him and acting in obedience to Him Your Lord knows that you are standing nearer than two-thirds of the night, half or a third of the night, and a group of those with you And God determines night and day He knew that you would not be able to count it, so he turned to you, so read what you can from the Qur’an He knew that there would be sickness among you and others wandering in the land seeking God’s bounty and others fighting in the cause of God So they recited whatever of it was possible, established prayer, paid zakat, and lent God a good loan And whatever good you put forward for yourselves, you will find with God that it is better and greater in reward And ask forgiveness from God. Indeed, God is Forgiving and Merciful Your Lord, O Muhammad, knows that you stand up closer than two-thirds of the night praying, and half or a third of it, along with a group of the Companions of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. Those who believed in God when He imposed on them the night prayers, and God determines the night and the day with hours and times Your Lord knew that you would not be able to endure the Resurrection, so He turned to you when you were unable and weak for Him and returned to you to ease your burden. So recite at night what is easy for you from the Qur’an in your prayers Your Lord knows, O believers, that there will be sick people among you whose illness has weakened them from praying at night Others travel through the land, seeking God’s bounty through trade They had traveled to seek livelihood, but they were unable and weak to perform the night prayers There are also others among you who strive against the enemy and fight them in support of God’s religion May God have mercy on you and ease your burden and remove the obligation of praying the night prayers from you So now, since this has lightened your prayers at night, recite as much of the Qur’an as you can And perform the obligatory prayers, which are the five daily prayers per day and night And give the zakat imposed on your wealth to those who deserve it And spend for the sake of God from your wealth And do not advance, O believers, for yourselves in the abode of this world From charity or expenses you spend for the sake of God Or other expenses for charitable purposes Or an act of obedience to God, such as prayer, fasting, or Hajj Or other good deeds in pursuit of what God has You will find him with God on the Day of Resurrection at your appointed time It is better for you than what you gave in this world and greater in reward Ask God to forgive your sins by forgiving you about them God is the One who forgives the sins of any of His servants who repent of their sins And He is merciful to punish them for it after they repent from it
