Allah the Exalted says:
“Nay, but whosoever hath done evil and his sin surroundeth him; such are rightful owners of the Fire; they will abide therein.” (2:81)
Sahl Ibn Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
"Beware of minor sins."
For the likeness of minor sins
is like a group of people who stopped in the bottom of a valley.
One person brought a stick, and another brought a stick,
until they gathered enough to bake their bread.
Indeed, when a person is held accountable for minor sins, they will destroy him.
Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
"Sins and acts of disobedience cause harm,
and their harm to the heart is inevitable,
just as the harm of poisons to the body,
though they vary in their degrees of harm."
Is there any evil or ailment in this world or the Hereafter
that is not caused by sins and acts of disobedience?
