Some of them are believers, but most of them are disobedient 00:40:52.974 --> 00:41:06.974 They will not harm you unless they fight you, and they turn their backs on you, and then they will not be helped 00:41:06.974 --> 00:41:21.974 Humiliation was imposed on them wherever they were, except with a rope from God and a rope from the people 00:41:21.974 --> 00:41:32.614 They incurred the wrath of God, and calamity struck them 00:41:32.614 --> 00:41:48.614 This is because they disbelieved in the verses of God and killed the prophets unjustly 00:41:48.614 --> 00:42:14.614 This is because they disobeyed and transgressed. They are not equal from the People of the Book, a standing nation reciting the verses of God throughout the night while prostrating. 00:42:14.614 --> 00:42:36.614 They believe in God and the Last Day, and they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, and they hasten to do good deeds, and they are among the righteous. 00:42:36.614 --> 00:43:06.474 And whatever good they do, they will not deny it, and God is All-Knowing of the righteous. Indeed, for those who multiply, neither their wealth nor their children will avail them of God at all. 00:43:06.474 --> 00:43:15.474 And those are the companions of the Fire, they will abide therein forever 00:43:15.474 --> 00:43:39.474 The likeness of what they spend in this worldly life is like a wind containing bitterness that strikes the tillage of a people who have wronged themselves 00:43:39.474 --> 00:43:48.474 So they were destroyed, and God did not wrong them, but they wronged themselves 00:43:48.474 --> 00:44:04.474 O you who have believed, do not take a side other than yourselves, they will not let you down, and pay back what you have 00:44:04.474 --> 00:44:27.474 Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater. We have made clear to you the signs, if you understand. 00:44:27.474 --> 00:44:56.474 Here you are, you love them, but they do not love you, and you believe in the entire Book. And when they meet you, they say, “We believe,” and when they leave alone, they bite upon you, to whomever belongs to someone else. 00:44:56.474 --> 00:45:22.474 Say, "Die to those who hate you. God is All-Knowing of what is in the breasts. If good befalls you, it will harm them. If evil befalls you, they rejoice in it. If you are patient and fearful, their machinations will not harm you at all." 00:45:22.474 --> 00:45:29.474 God encompasses what they do 00:45:29.474 --> 00:45:40.474 And when you departed from your family, you appointed the believers as places of battle, and God is All-Hearing, All-Knowing 00:45:40.474 --> 00:45:55.474 When two groups of you intended to fail, and God was their guardian, and in God let the believers put their trust 00:45:55.474 --> 00:46:06.474 God certainly gave you victory at Badr while you were humiliated, so fear God that you may be grateful 00:46:06.474 --> 00:46:25.503 When you say to the believers, “Is it not enough for you if your Lord provides you with three thousand angels sent down?” 00:46:25.503 --> 00:46:46.503 Indeed, if you are patient and fearful, and they come upon you from this outburst, your Lord will provide you with five thousand marked angels. 00:46:46.503 --> 00:47:02.503 God did not make it except as a good tidings to you and so that your hearts may be reassured by it. There is no help except from God, the Mighty, the Wise 00:47:02.503 --> 00:47:15.503 To cut off a part of those who were numerous, or suppress them, so that they would turn away disappointed 00:47:15.503 --> 00:47:25.503 You have nothing to do with it, whether he repents to them or punishes them, for they are wrongdoers 00:47:25.503 --> 00:47:41.503 And to God belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth. He forgives whomever He wills and punishes whomever He wills, and God is Forgiving and Merciful 00:47:41.503 --> 00:47:54.503 O you who have believed, do not consume usury many times over, but fear God that you may succeed 00:47:54.503 --> 00:48:01.503 And fear the Fire that has been prepared for the unbelievers 00:48:01.503 --> 00:48:08.503 And obey God and the Messenger that you may receive mercy 00:48:08.503 --> 00:48:26.503 And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a Paradise as wide as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the righteous 00:48:26.503 --> 00:48:47.503 Those who spend in good times and in adversity, who repress anger and pardon people, and God loves the doers of good 00:48:47.503 --> 00:49:16.503 And those who, when they commit an immoral act or wrong themselves, remember God and ask forgiveness for their sins. And who can forgive sins except God? And they do not persist in what they did while they knew. 00:49:16.503 --> 00:49:39.503 For those, their reward is forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens beneath which rivers flow, to abide therein, and what a wonderful reward for those who work 00:49:39.503 --> 00:49:54.503 Sunnahs have passed before you, so travel through the earth and see what was the end of the deniers 00:49:54.503 --> 00:50:03.503 This is a clarification for the people and a guidance and admonition for the righteous 00:50:03.503 --> 00:50:13.563 And do not become weak and do not be ashamed, for you will be superior if you are believers 00:50:13.563 --> 00:50:42.653 An ulcer will afflict you. An ulcer similar to it has afflicted the people. And those days We alternate them among the people, so that God may know those who believe and take from among you witnesses. And God does not like the wrongdoers. 00:50:42.653 --> 00:50:50.653 And God will purify those who believe and annihilate the disbelievers 00:50:50.653 --> 00:51:10.653 Or did you think that you would enter Paradise while God did not know those of you who struggled and knew those who were patient? 00:51:10.653 --> 00:51:29.653 You were wishing for death before you met it, but you saw it while you were looking 00:51:29.653 --> 00:51:58.653 Muhammad is nothing but a messenger. Messengers have passed before him. If he dies or is killed, will you turn back on your heels? And whoever turns back on his heels will not harm God at all, and God will reward those who are thankful. 00:51:58.653 --> 00:52:22.653 And it is not for a soul to die except with God’s permission, a deferred decree. And whoever desires the reward of this world, We will give him it. And whoever desires the reward of the Hereafter, We will give him it. And We will reward the thankful. 00:52:22.653 --> 00:52:44.653 And like any prophet with whom many rabbis fought, they did not weaken when what befell them in the cause of God, nor did they weaken, nor did they submit. And God loves those who are patient. 00:52:44.653 --> 00:53:09.653 Their only words were that they said, “O Lord, forgive us our sins and our extravagance in our affairs, and make firm our feet, and grant us victory over the disbelieving people.” 00:53:09.653 --> 00:53:21.653 So God gave them the reward of this world and the good reward of the Hereafter, and God loves the doers of good 00:53:21.653 --> 00:53:38.653 O you who have believed, if you obey those who disbelieve, they will turn you back on your heels, so you will lose 00:53:38.653 --> 00:53:46.653 Rather, God is your protector and He is the best of helpers 00:53:46.653 --> 00:54:05.844 We will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve because of what they have associated with God unless He has sent down any authority for it, and their abode is the Fire, and miserable is the abode of the wrongdoers. 00:54:05.844 --> 00:54:26.844 And God has certainly fulfilled His promise to you when you feel them by His permission, even if you fail and dispute over the matter and disobey after He showed you what you love. 00:54:26.844 --> 00:54:50.844 Some of you want this world and some of you want the Hereafter. Then He turned you away from them in order to test you, and He has certainly pardoned you. And God is of bounty to the believers. 00:54:50.844 --> 00:55:19.844 When you ascended and did not turn to anyone, while the Messenger was calling you behind you, he rewarded you with grief for grief so that you would not grieve over what you missed or what befell you, and God is All-Aware. 00:55:20.943 --> 00:55:22.943 What do you do? 00:55:22.943 --> 00:55:52.483 After the grief, He sent down upon you security. A drowsiness overwhelms a group of you, and a group whose souls have become preoccupied, think of God. 00:55:52.483 --> 00:56:14.483 What is not true is the opinion of the pre-Islamic era. They say, “Do we have anything to do with the matter?” Say, “The matter is entirely for God.” They hide within themselves what they do not reveal to you. 00:56:14.483 --> 00:56:32.483 They say, “If we had anything to do with the matter, we would have killed it here.” Say, “If you were in your homes, those who were destined to be killed would have returned to their resting places.” 00:56:32.483 --> 00:56:46.483 And let God test what is in your breasts and purify what is in your hearts, and God is All-Knowing of what is in your breasts 00:56:46.483 --> 00:57:12.483 Indeed, those of you who turned away on the day the two armies met, Satan caused them to slip by some of what they had earned, and God has certainly pardoned them. Indeed, God is Forgiving, Forbearing. 00:57:12.483 --> 00:57:41.483 O you who have believed, do not be like those who multiplied and said to their brothers when they struck the land or fought: “If they had been with us, they would not have died or been killed,” so that God may make that a regret in their hearts. 00:57:41.483 --> 00:57:50.483 And God gives life and causes death, and God sees what you do 00:57:50.483 --> 00:58:07.483 And if you are killed in the cause of God or die, forgiveness from God and mercy will be better than what they muster 00:58:07.483 --> 00:58:14.483 And if you die or are killed, you will be gathered to God 00:58:14.483 --> 00:58:34.483 It is because of God’s mercy that you have been kind to them, and if you had been stubborn and hard-hearted, they would not have dispersed from those around you, so pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult them about the matter. 00:58:34.483 --> 00:59:00.664 If you are determined, then put your trust in God. God loves the one who trusts. If God helps you, no one can defeat you. And if He abandons you, who is the one who will help you after him? 00:59:00.664 --> 00:59:06.664 And in God let the believers put their trust 00:59:06.664 --> 00:59:25.664 It is not for a prophet to defraud, and whoever defrauds will be brought with what he defrauded on the Day of Resurrection. Then every soul will be paid in full what it has earned, and they will not be wronged. 00:59:25.664 --> 00:59:46.664 Is he who follows God’s pleasure like he who has incurred God’s displeasure, and his abode is Hell, and a wretched destination? 00:59:46.664 --> 00:59:58.664 They are degrees in the sight of God, and God sees what they do 01:00:00.023 --> 01:00:28.023 God is upon the believers when He sent among them a messenger from among themselves, reciting to them His verses, purifying them, and teaching them the Book and wisdom. 01:00:28.023 --> 01:00:34.023 Even if they were before in clear error 01:00:34.023 --> 01:01:00.023 Whenever a calamity befalls you, you have befallen something like it, you say, “This is it.” Say, “It is from yourselves. Indeed, God has power over all things.” 01:01:00.023 --> 01:01:08.023 Whatever befell you on the day the two armies met was by God’s permission and so that the believers would know 01:01:08.023 --> 01:01:19.023 And so that those who were hypocrites would know and it was said to them, “Come, fight for the sake of God or be repulsed.” 01:01:19.023 --> 01:01:41.023 They said, "If we had known of fighting, we would have followed you." They are closer to disbelief on that day than they are to faith. They say in their hearts what is not in their hearts, and God knows best what they conceal. 01:01:41.023 --> 01:01:58.023 Those who said to their brothers and sat back, “If they had obeyed us, they would not have been killed.” Say, “Avert death from yourselves if you are truthful.” 01:01:58.023 --> 01:02:14.023 And do not think that those who were killed in the cause of God are dead, but rather they are alive and provided for by their Lord 01:02:14.023 --> 01:02:38.213 They rejoice in what God has bestowed upon them of His bounty, and they rejoice over those behind them who have not joined them. They will have no fear, nor will they grieve. 01:02:38.213 --> 01:02:50.213 They rejoice in a blessing from God and that God will not waste the reward of believers 01:02:50.213 --> 01:03:05.373 Those who responded to God and the Messenger after the affliction befell them. For those among them who did good and feared a great reward 01:03:05.373 --> 01:03:31.373 Those to whom the people said, “The people have gathered against you, so fear them,” and it increased their faith, and they said, “Allah is sufficient, and He is the best disposer of affairs.” 01:03:31.373 --> 01:03:52.664 So they returned with God’s grace and bounty, and no harm touched them, and they followed God’s pleasure, and God is of great bounty. 01:03:52.664 --> 01:04:09.684 It is Satan who fears his friends, so do not fear them, but fear them if you are believers 01:04:09.684 --> 01:04:34.193 And do not be saddened by those who hasten to disbelieve, for they will not harm God in any way. God intends not to grant them any share in the Hereafter, and for them will be a great punishment. 01:04:34.193 --> 01:04:51.443 Those who bought disbelief for faith will not harm God in the slightest, and they will have a painful punishment 01:04:51.443 --> 01:05:11.443 And let not those who disbelieve think that We give them respite for good for their souls. We only give respite to them so that they may increase in sin, and for them is a humiliating punishment. 01:05:11.443 --> 01:05:38.443 God would not leave the believers in the state you are until He distinguishes the bad from the good, and God would not make known to you the unseen, but God chooses from His messengers whom He wills. 01:05:38.443 --> 01:05:48.443 So believe in God and His Messengers, and if you believe and fear God, you will have a great reward 01:05:48.443 --> 01:06:17.443 And let not those who are stingy with what God has given them of His bounty think that it is good for them, rather it is evil for them. They will be surrounded by what they were stingy with on the Day of Resurrection. And to God belongs the inheritance of the heavens and the earth, and God is Aware of what you do. 01:06:17.443 --> 01:06:42.574 God has heard the words of those who said that God is poor and we are rich. We will write down what they said and the prophets killed them unjustly and say, “Taste the torment of burning.” 01:06:42.574 --> 01:06:52.574 That is for what your hands have forwarded, and that God is not unjust to His servants 01:06:52.574 --> 01:07:12.764 Those who said that God has entrusted us not to believe in a messenger until he brings us an offering that will be consumed by fire 01:07:12.764 --> 01:07:33.893 Say, “Messengers before me have come to you with clear proofs and with what you said, so why did you kill them if you were truthful?” 01:07:33.893 --> 01:07:54.014 If they deny you, then messengers before you who came with clear proofs, scriptures, and the enlightening Book have also denied you 01:07:55.014 --> 01:08:16.264 You will taste death, but you will be fully rewarded on the Day of Resurrection. So whoever is saved from the Fire and entered into Paradise will win 01:08:16.264 --> 01:08:22.264 The life of this world is nothing but the enjoyment of vanity 01:08:22.264 --> 01:08:45.264 You will be tried for your wealth and your souls, and you will hear from those who were given the Scripture before you, and from those who associate others with others. 01:08:45.264 --> 01:08:54.264 If you are patient and pious, then this is a matter of determination 01:08:54.264 --> 01:09:21.264 And when God took a covenant from those who were given the Book that you will make it clear to the people and do not conceal it, then they threw it behind their backs and exchanged it for a small price. 01:09:21.264 --> 01:09:24.264 So evil is what they buy 01:09:24.264 --> 01:09:52.264 Do not think that those who rejoice in what they have achieved and love to be praised for what they have not done, do not think that they will be spared from the torment, and they will have a painful torment. 01:09:52.264 --> 01:10:03.543 To God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and God has power over all things 01:10:03.543 --> 01:10:17.543 Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of night and day are signs for those of understanding 01:10:17.543 --> 01:10:32.543 Those who remember God standing, sitting, and on their sides, and contemplate the creation of the heavens and the earth 01:10:32.543 --> 01:10:47.543 Our Lord, You did not create this in vain. Glory be to You, so save us from the torment of the Fire 01:10:47.543 --> 01:11:02.543 Our Lord, whoever You admit to Hell, You have disgraced him, and the wrongdoers have no helpers 01:11:02.543 --> 01:11:17.543 Our Lord, we have heard a caller calling to faith: Believe in your Lord, so we believe 01:11:17.543 --> 01:11:35.644 Our Lord, forgive us our sins and expiate our bad deeds and cause us to die with the righteous 01:11:35.644 --> 01:11:50.054 Our Lord, give us what You promised us through Your messengers, and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. You do not break your promise 01:11:50.054 --> 01:12:13.404 So their Lord responded to them: I will not waste the work of any worker among you, male or female, some of you from one another 01:12:13.404 --> 01:12:42.444 So those who emigrated and were expelled from their homes and were harmed in My cause and fought and were killed - I will certainly remit their evil deeds from them and admit them into Gardens beneath which rivers flow. 01:12:43.444 --> 01:13:04.444 Underneath rivers flow, a reward from God, and with God is the best reward. Do not be deceived by the inconstancy of those who disbelieve in the lands. 01:13:04.444 --> 01:13:16.694 A little provision, then their abode is Hell, and miserable is the resting place 01:13:16.694 --> 01:13:40.694 But those who fear their Lord will have Gardens beneath which rivers flow, to abide therein, a revelation from God 01:13:40.694 --> 01:13:46.694 And what God has is better for the righteous 01:13:47.694 --> 01:14:06.694 And among the People of the Book are those who believe in God and what has been revealed to you and what has been sent down to them, submissive to God 01:14:06.694 --> 01:14:12.694 They do not buy the verses of God for a small price 01:14:13.694 --> 01:14:25.724 Those will have their reward with their Lord. Indeed, God is quick to judge 01:14:25.724 --> 01:14:43.724 O you who have believed, be patient and persevere and be firm and fear God that you may succeed
