In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful A thousand no min sad A book revealed to you, so do not let there be any embarrassment in your heart about it To warn and remind the believers Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and do not follow any guardians other than Him. Little do you remember How many towns have we destroyed, but then Our punishment brought them down, or they said: Their only claim when Our punishment came to them was that they said, “Indeed, we have been wrongdoers.” So let us ask those to whom it was sent, and let us ask the messengers Let us narrate to them with knowledge while we were absent And the weight on that Day will be the truth, so whoever’s scales are heavy, those are the successful ones And those whose scales are light are those who have lost their souls because they were unjust to Our signs We have established you in the land and provided for you livelihoods therein. Little do you give thanks And We created you, then formed you, then We said to the angels, “Prostrate to Adam.” So they prostrated, except for Iblis. He was not among those who prostrated. He said, “What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?” He said, “I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay.” He said, "Go down from it, and it is not for you to be arrogant in it." Then he left, "You are one of the lowly." He said, "Wait me until the day they are resurrected." He said, "You are one of the theorists." He said, “Because you have led me astray, I will remain for them on your straight path.” Then I will come to them from before them and from behind them and from their right and from their left, and you will not find most of them grateful He said, “He came out of it reprehensible and repelled by those of them who followed you. I will fill Hell with all of you.” O Adam, you and your husband live in Paradise, so eat wherever you wish, and do not approach this tree, lest you become unjust. Then Satan whispered to them to reveal to them and hide from them some of their private parts, and said: Your Lord has not forbidden you from this tree unless it becomes two angels. Unless you are two angels or you are immortals And I swear to them, “I am one of your advisers.” So they deluded themselves arrogantly, and when they tasted the tree, their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to cover themselves with leaves from Paradise And their Lord called to them: “Did I not forbid you from punching the tree and tell you that Satan is an open enemy to you?” He said, “Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will be among the losers.” He said, “Go down, enemies of one another, and you will have a place and enjoyment on earth for a while.” He said: In it you live, in it you die, and from it you will emerge O children of Adam, We have sent down to you clothing, and cover your robes, and feathers, and the clothing of piety. That is better This is one of the signs of God, so that they may remember O children of Adam, do not let Satan tempt you just as he expelled your parents from Paradise, stripping them of their clothes to show them their inner parts. He and his tribe see you from where you do not see them, if We make the devils guardians of those who do not believe And if they commit an immoral act, they say, “We found our fathers doing it, and God commanded us to do it.” Say, “God does not command immorality.” Do you say about God what you do not know? Say, “My Lord has commanded justice, and set your faces straight at every mosque and call upon Him, sincere in religion to Him, just as He initiated your custom.” One group is this, and another group is destined to go astray. Indeed, they have taken the devils as guardians instead of God, and they think that they are guided O children of Adam, take your adornments to every mosque, and eat and drink, and do not be extravagant. He does not like the extravagant Say, “Who has forbidden the adornments of God which He has brought forth for His servants and the good things of provision?” Say, “They are for those who believe in the life of this world, purely on the Day of Resurrection.” Thus We detail the signs for a people who know. Say, “My Lord has only forbidden immoral acts, those of which are apparent and those that are concealed, and sin and righteousness without right, and that you associate with God that for which He has not sent down authority.” Unless he has sent down authority, and that you say about God what you do not know Every nation has a term, and when their term comes, they will not be delayed for an hour, nor will they advance O children of Adam, when messengers from among you come to you, narrating to you My verses, then whoever fears and reforms, they will have no fear, nor will they grieve. And those who deny Our signs and are arrogant about them - these are the inmates of the Fire, wherein they will abide forever Who is more unjust than he who invents a lie against God or denies His signs? Those will receive their share from the Book. Until, when Our messengers came to them, taking them to death, they said, “Wherever you call upon other than God,” they said, “They have gone astray from us,” and they testified against themselves that they were disbelievers. They said, “Enter among nations that had been devoid of jinn and humans before you. In Hell, every time a nation enters, it curses its sister.” Until, when they all gathered in it, the last of them said to the first of them, “Our Lord, these have misled us, so I will give them a double punishment of the Fire.” He said for every weakness, but you do not know And the first of them said to the last of them: “You have no favor over us, so taste the torment for what you earned.” Indeed, those who deny Our verses and are arrogant about them, the gates of heaven will not be opened for them, nor will they enter Paradise until the camel enters the eye of the tailor. And thus We reward criminals For them is a cradle in Hell, and above them is a covering. Thus do We recompense the wrongdoers And those who believe and do righteous deeds - We do not burden a soul beyond its capacity. These are the companions of Paradise, wherein they will abide forever And We removed the rancor from their breasts, with rivers flowing beneath them They said: Praise be to God who guided us to this, and we would not have been guided if God had not guided us The messengers of our Lord have come with the truth and they wished that you would inherit Paradise because of what you did And the dwellers of Paradise called out to the dwellers of Hell, “We have found what our Lord promised us to be true. Have you found what your Lord promised to be true?” They said yes, then a muezzin announced among them. May God’s curse be upon the oppressors Those who turn away from the path of God and seek it to be crooked, and are disbelievers in the Hereafter Between them is a veil, and on the crests there are men who recognize each by their marks, and they call out to the inhabitants of Paradise, “Peace be upon you.” They did not enter it while they were greedy. And when their gazes are turned toward the companions of the Fire, they will say, “Our Lord, do not place us with the wrongdoing people.” And the people of Al-Araf called out men who recognized them by their marks. They said, “Your gathering is of no use to you, and you were not arrogant.” Are those whom you swore that God would not grant mercy to them, enter Paradise, with no fear upon you, nor will you grieve? And the inmates of Hell called out to the inmates of Paradise, “Pour water on us or of what God has provided for you.” They said, “Indeed, God has forbidden them to the unbelievers.” Those who took their religion as amusement and amusement, and were deceived by the life of this world, so today We will forget them just as they forgot the meeting of this day of theirs, and they did not deny Our signs. And We have brought to them a Book which We have explained with knowledge, as guidance and mercy for a people who believe Will they wait for anything but its interpretation? On the day when its interpretation comes, those who forgot it before will say, “It has come.” Our Lord has sent us with the truth. Do we have any intercessors so they can intercede for us, or should we be sent back and do other than what we used to do? They have lost their souls, and what they were inventing has gone astray from them. Your Lord is God who created the heavens and the earth in six days and then settled upon the Throne The night guides the day, it seeks it relentlessly, and the sun, the moon, and the stars are subjugated by His command. Indeed, His is the creation and the command. Blessed be God, Lord of the worlds. I pray to your Lord humbly and secretly. He does not like aggressors And do not cause corruption in the land after it has been put in order, and call upon Him in fear and hope. Indeed, God’s mercy is close to those who do good It is He who sends the winds bringing good news before His mercy, until when they carry heavy clouds, we drive them to a dead land So We sent down water with it, and brought forth with it all kinds of fruits. Thus We bring forth the dead, so that you may remember And the good land brings forth its vegetation with the permission of its Lord, and the bad one does not come forth except with distress. Thus We convey the signs to a people who are grateful. We sent Noah to his people, and he said, “O my people, Abdullah, you have no god other than Him. I fear for you the torment of a great day.” The leaders of his people said, “We see you in clear error.” He said, “O my people, I am not astray, but I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds.” I convey to you the messages of my Lord and advise you, and I know from God what you do not know And you wonder that a reminder has come to you from your Lord about a man from among you to warn you and that you may remain steadfast and that you may receive mercy But they denied him, so We saved him and those with him in the ark, and We drowned those who denied Our signs. Indeed, they were a blind people. And to Ad, their brother Hud, he said: O people, Abdullah, you have no god other than Him. Will you not fear Him? The leaders of his people who disbelieved said, “Indeed, we see you in foolishness, and we believe that you are among the liars.” He said, “O my people, I am not foolish, but I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds.” I convey to you the messages of my Lord and I am a faithful advisor to you Do you wonder that a reminder has come to you from your Lord over a man from among you to warn you? And remember when He made you successors from some of Noah’s people and increased you in creation through His extension. So remember the favors of God that you may succeed They said, "You have come to us to worship God alone and to abandon what our fathers worshiped. So bring us what you promised us, if you are of the truthful ones." He said, “Abomination and wrath have fallen upon you from your Lord. Do you dispute with me about names that you and your fathers have named for which God has sent down no authority?” So wait, for I am with you among those waiting So We saved him and those with him by Our mercy, and We cut off the traces of those who denied Our signs and were not believers And to Thamud, their brother Salih, he said: O my people, worship God. You have no god other than Him. Clear proof has come to you from your Lord. This is the she-camel of God for you. So leave it to eat on God’s earth, and do not touch it with any harm, lest a painful punishment befall you So remember when He made you caliphs from some of Ad and settled you in the land. You take palaces from its plains and carve out houses in the mountains. So remember the favors of God and do not spread corruption on the earth, spreading corruption. The chiefs among his people who were arrogant said to those who were weak to those who believed among them: “Do you know that Salih has been sent from his Lord?” They said, “Indeed, in what He was sent with, we are believers.” Those who were arrogant said, “Indeed, we disbelieve in that in which you believe.” So they barred the she-camel, and she turned him away from the command of their Lord, and they said, “O Saleh, give us what you promise us, if you are one of the messengers.” Then the tremor seized them and they became crouched in their house So he turned away from them and said, “O my people, I have conveyed to you the message of my Lord and advised you, but you do not like advisers.” And Lot, when he said to his people, “Do you commit an indecency that no one of the worlds has ever done before you?” Indeed, you desire men rather than women, but you are an extravagant people The only answer from his people was that they said, “Expel them from your village. They are people who purify themselves.” So We saved him and his family, except his wife, who was among those who remained behind We rained rain upon them, so see what was the end of the criminals And to Midian, their brother Shuaib, he said: O people of Abdullah, you have no god other than him Clear evidence has come to you from your Lord, so give full measure and measure Do not deprive people of their possessions and do not spread corruption on earth after it has been restored That is better for you if you are believers And do not sit down on every path you are promised, and you turn away from the path of God those who believe in Him, and you seek to make it crooked And remember, when you were few, He multiplied you, and see what was the end of the mischief-makers And if a group of you believed in what I was sent with and a group did not believe, then be patient until God judges between us, and He is the Best of judges. The arrogant leaders of his people said, “We will expel you, O Shuaib.” Believe with you from our town, or you will return to our religion. He said: “If we had hated it.” We have fabricated a lie against God if we return to your religion after God saved us from it And it is not for us to return to it unless God wills. Our Lord, our Lord encompasses all things with knowledge. In God we trust. Our Lord, we will grant victory between us and our people with truth, and you are the best of conquerors. The chiefs of his people said, “If you follow Shuaib, then you will be losers.” Then the tremor seized them and they became crouched in their house Those who lied to Shuaib were as if they had not sung in it. Those who lied to Shuaib were the losers So he turned away from them and said, “O my people, I have conveyed to you the messages of my Lord and given you sincere advice, so how can I grieve for an unbelieving people?” We did not send any prophet to any town except that We seized its people with adversity and hardship, so that they might humble themselves When We replaced the bad with good, they pardoned and said, “Our fathers have been touched by hardship and prosperity.” So We seized them suddenly while they were not aware. And if the people of the towns had believed and feared, We would have granted them blessings from heaven and earth, but they lied, so We seized them for what they were earning. Are the people of the villages safe from having Asna bring them a house while they sleep? Are the people of the villages safe that our sacrifice will come to them while they are playing? Do they believe in God’s deception? No one will be safe from God’s deception except the people who are losers Has it not been given to those who inherit the earth from some of its people that if We willed, We could afflict them with their sins and seal their hearts so that they would not listen? These towns we will narrate to you from their fathers. Indeed, their messengers had come to them with clear proofs, but they would not believe in what they had denied before. Thus God seals the hearts of the disbelievers. We found most of them to have no covenant, although we found most of them to be transgressors Did We not send Moses from among them with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they were wronged by them? So see what was the end of the mischief-makers. Moses said, “O Pharaoh, I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds.” It is true that I say nothing about God except the truth. I have come to you with clear proofs from your Lord, so send with me the children of Israel He said: If you have come with a sign, then bring it if you are truthful So he threw his stick, and it was a visible snake He removed his hand and it was white to the onlookers The leaders of Pharaoh’s people said, “This is a knowledgeable magician.” You want him to expel you from your land, so what do you command? They said, “Send him and his brother back and send them to Al-Mada’in.” They will bring you every knowledgeable magician And the magicians came to Pharaoh and said, “Indeed, we will have a reward if we are the victors.” He said: Yes, and you are among those close to me They said, “O Moses, either you will throw or we will be the ones who will throw.” He said, “Throw,” and when they threw, they bewitched people’s eyes They terrorized them and brought great magic And We revealed to Moses, “Throw your staff,” and it caught what they were thinking Then the truth came and they did little So they defeated him, and they were defeated The magicians were thrown prostrate They said, “We believe in the Lord of the Worlds.” Lord of Moses and Aaron Pharaoh said, “You believed in him before I gave you permission.” This is an honorable person whom you deceived in the city in order to expel its people from it. You will know I will cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, then I will crucify you all They said: We seek our Lord And you do not take revenge on us unless we believe in the signs of our Lord when they came to us Our Lord, pour out patience on us and let us die as Muslims And the chiefs of Pharaoh's people said, "Would you leave Moses and his people to spread corruption in the land and leave you and your gods?" He said: We will kill their sons and spare their women, and we will be subjugated over them Moses said to his people: Seek help from God and be patient. Indeed, the earth belongs to God. He inherits it from whomever He wishes of His servants, and the final outcome is for the righteous. They said, “We were harmed before you came to us and after you came to us.” He said, “Perhaps your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you successors in the land and see how you do.” And We certainly oppressed Pharaoh's family with years and a shortage of fruits, so that they might remember So when good comes to them, they say, “This is ours,” and if evil befalls them, they slander Moses and those with him. Indeed, their scorn is only with God, but most of them do not know. And they said, “No matter what sign you bring us to enchant us with, we are not believers in your name.” So We sent upon them the flood, and the locusts, and the moths, and the frogs, and a clod of blood, as clear signs, but they were arrogant and were a criminal people. And when the calamity befell them, they said, “O Moses, invoke your Lord for us according to what He has covenanted with you. If you remove the calamity from us, we will believe in you and we will send the Children of Israel with you.” When We removed from them the punishment for a term they had fulfilled, behold, they renounced it So We took revenge on them and drowned them in the sea because they denied Our signs and were heedless of them And We made the people who were oppressed inherit the easts and wests of the land which We had blessed, and the good word of your Lord was fulfilled upon the children of Israel because they were patient, and We destroyed what Pharaoh and his people were doing and what they were establishing. And we took the Children of Israel across the sea, and they came upon a people who were devoting themselves to Islam. They said, “O Moses, a god has been made for us as they have gods.” He said, “You are an ignorant people.” These people are ignorant of what they are in and what they were doing is false He said: Is there a god other than God that I seek of you? And He is your superiority over the worlds And when We delivered you from the people of Pharaoh, who were inflicting on you a terrible torment, killing your sons and sparing your women And in that is a great trial from your Lord We appointed with Moses thirty nights and completed them with ten, so the appointed time of his Lord was completed for forty nights. And Moses said to his brother Aaron, “Leave me among my people and make peace, and do not follow the path of corruptors.” And when Moses came to Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said, “O Lord, show me that I may look at You.” He said, “You will not see Me, but look at the mountain, and if it remains in its place, you will see Me.” When his Lord appeared to the mountain, He caused it to collapse, and Moses fell down, stunned, and when he regained consciousness, he said, Glory be to You, I repent to You, and I am the first of the believers. He said, “O Moses, I have chosen you over the people with My messages and with My words, so take what I have given you and be among those who are thankful.” And We wrote for him on the tablets of everything an admonition and a detail of everything, so take it firmly and command your people to take the best of it. I will show you the abode of the transgressors. I will turn away from the signs those who are unjustly arrogant on earth, and if they see every sign they will not believe in it, and if they see the path of righteousness they will not take it as a path. That is because they denied Our signs and were heedless of them And those who deny Our signs, and when they meet the Hereafter, their deeds will be worthless, so let them be rewarded except for what they used to do Moses' people took part of their ornaments as a body with a mooing calf. Did they not see that he did not speak to them or guide them to a path? They took it and were wrongdoers. And when it fell into their hands and they saw that they had remained, they said, “If our Lord does not have mercy on us and forgive us, we will be among the losers.” And when Moses returned to his people, he was filled with sorrow. He said, “Wretched is what you left behind me.” He said, “Wretched is what you left behind me after me.” You have hastened the command of your Lord, and he threw down the tablets and took hold of his brother's head, dragging him to him. He said, "We are a nation. Indeed, the people considered me weak and were about to kill me, so do not let the enemies gloat over me." So do not let my enemies gloat over me and do not place me with the unjust people He said, “Lord, forgive me and my brother and admit us into Your mercy, for You are the Most Merciful of those who show mercy.” Those who adopted the calf will incur wrath from their Lord and humiliation in this worldly life, and thus We reward the slanderers And those who committed evil deeds and then repented from some of them and believed. Indeed, your Lord is Forgiving and Merciful from some of them When Moses' anger subsided, he took the tablets, and in their copies was guidance and mercy for those who fear their Lord. And Moses chose his people seventy men for Our appointed time, and when the tremor seized them, he said, “My Lord, if You had wished, You could have destroyed them before, and with him, would You destroy us for what the foolish among us did?” It is nothing but your trial, with which you lead astray whomever you wish and guide whomever you wish. You are our guardian, so forgive us and have mercy on us, and you are the best of forgivers. And write for us good deeds in this world and in the hereafter. Indeed, we have guided you. He said, “My torment befalls whomever I will, and My mercy encompasses all things.” So I will write it for those who fear and pay zakat and who believe in Our signs Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find written in the Torah and the Gospel He commands them to do good and forbids them to do evil. He makes lawful for them good things and forbids for them evil things And He will remove from them their burden and the shackles that were upon them. So those who believe in him and honor him and support him and follow the light that was sent down with him - those are the successful. Say, O people, I am the Messenger of God to all of you. To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no god but Him. He gives life and causes death. So believe in God and His Messenger, the unlettered Prophet who believes in God and His words, and follow him that you may be guided. And among the people of Moses were a nation who were guided by the truth and were just with it And We divided them into twelve races of nations, and We inspired Moses, when his people asked him for water, to strike the stone with your staff, and twelve springs sprang from it. Every people has known their drinking place, and We have shaded them with clouds and sent down to them manna and quails. Eat of the good things We have provided for you. They did not wrong Us, but they wronged themselves. And when it was said to him: “Dwell in this town and eat from it wherever you wish, and say “hate” and enter the gate prostrating, “We will forgive you your sins. We will increase the doers of good.” Then those who were unjust among them substituted a length other than what they had been told, so We sent upon them a punishment from heaven because of their wrongdoing And ask them about the town that was by the sea, when they transgressed on the Sabbath, when their whales came to them on the day of their Sabbath according to law, and on the day they did not observe the Sabbath, they did not come to them. Thus We tried them because they were defiantly disobedient. And when a nation among them said, “You do not consider a people whom God will destroy or punish with a severe punishment,” they said, “Excuse me to your Lord, and perhaps they will fear.” Then when they forgot what they had been reminded of, We saved those who forbid evil, and We seized those who wronged with a wretched punishment because they were defiantly disobedient. When they disobeyed what they had forbidden, We said to them, “Be despicable apes.” And when you gave your Lord permission to send upon them until the Day of Resurrection those who would inflict upon them an evil torment. Indeed, your Lord is swift in punishment, and indeed, He is Forgiving and Merciful. And We divided them into nations on earth, some of whom were righteous and some of them other than that, and We tested them with good deeds and evil deeds so that they might return. Then there came after them a succession of inheritors of the Book, who took this lowest offer and said, “We will be forgiven,” and if an offer like it comes to them, they take it Was not a covenant taken from them in the Book not to say about God except the truth, and they studied what is in it? And the Hereafter is better for those who fear. Will you not understand? As for those who hold the Book and establish prayer, We will not waste the reward of the reformers And when we towered over the mountain above them as if it were a canopy, and they thought that it was falling upon them: “Take what We have given you with strength, and remember what is in it that you may become righteous.” And when your Lord took from the children of Adam, from their backs, their offspring and made them bear witness about themselves, am I not your Lord? They said, “Yes, we testified,” lest you say on the Day of Resurrection, “Indeed, we were unaware of this.” Or do you say, “Our fathers were polytheists before, and we were descendants after them. Will we be destroyed by what the false ones did?” And thus We detail the verses, and perhaps they will return And recite to them the story of the One to whom We gave Our signs, but he slipped away from them, and Satan followed him, and he became one of the deceivers And if We had willed, We could have lifted him up with it, but he settled down to the ground and followed his desires, so his likeness is like that of a dog: if you burden him, he panteth, or you leave him panting, that is like the people who disbelieve Our signs. So tell the stories that they may reflect. How evil are those like me who denied Our signs while they were wronging themselves. Whoever God guides is the one who is guided, and whoever He leads astray - those are the losers And We have created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, and they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. These are like cattle, nay, they are more astray. These are the heedless And God has the most beautiful names, so call upon Him by them, and leave those who deny His names. They will be rewarded for what they used to do Among those whom We created are a nation who guide with the truth and are just with it And those who deny Our signs, We will lure them from where they do not know I hope for them that my plot is solid Have they not considered that there is no paradise in their companion? He is only a clear warner Have they not considered the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what God has created? And if perhaps their time has drawn near, then in what hadith after it will they believe? Whoever shelters him will have no guide, and he will leave them wandering and wandering in their wanderings They ask you about the Hour, when will it arrive. Say, “The knowledge of it is with my Lord. No one will reveal it at its time except Him.” So I said, “In the heavens and the earth, it will not come to you except suddenly. They will ask you as if you were hidden from it.” Say, “The knowledge of it is only with God, but most people do not know.” Say, “I do not control for myself any benefit or harm except what God wills. And if I had known the unseen, I would have abounded in goodness, and no evil would have touched me. I am only a warner and a giver of good tidings to a people who believe.” It is He who created you from a single soul and made from it its mate to provide tranquility for it. When he covered her, she carried a light burden and passed through him When the call to God, their Lord, was burdensome, “If You give us what is right, we will certainly be among those who are thankful.” So when He gave them good, they made partners for Him in what He gave them, so God is exalted above what they associate with Him Do they associate with what does not create anything while they create, and they cannot help them, nor can they help themselves? And if you invite them to guidance, they will not follow you. It is the same to you whether you invite them or remain silent Those whom you call upon besides God are servants like you, so call upon them and let them respond to you if you are truthful Do they have legs with which they walk, or do they have hands with which they strike, or do they have eyes with which they see, or do they have ears with which they hear? Say, “Call upon your partners.” Then they plot, but you will not look. The guardian of God is the One who revealed the Book, and He takes care of the righteous And those whom you call upon besides Him cannot help you, nor can they help themselves And if you call them to guidance, they will not listen, and you will see them looking at you while they do not see Take the pledge, enjoin what is customary, and turn away from the ignorant And if he provokes you to anger from Satan, seek refuge in God. He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing Those who fear, when a swarm of Satan touches them, will remember, and then they will see And their brothers extend them in error and then they do not fall short And if you do not bring them a verse, they say, “If only you had not chosen it.” Say: I only follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. These are insights from your Lord and guidance and mercy for those who believe. And when he recites the Qur’an, listen to him and listen, so that you may receive mercy And remember your Lord within yourself, humbly and fearfully, and speaking softly in the mornings and the evenings, and do not be of the heedless. Those who are with your Lord are not too arrogant to worship Him, but they glorify Him and prostrate to Him
