Summary of the concepts of Ahl al-Sunnah Intercession Intercession in the Hereafter is of two types. One is exclusive to our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. The other is for all other prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous. As for our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, he has several intercessions. Among them is his great intercession, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, for all people on the Day of Resurrection, that Allah, the Almighty, may come to judge and settle matters between His servants. This is the intercession that all other prophets declined. It is the Praiseworthy Station that Allah promised His Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. And among them is his intercession, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, for the people of Paradise to enter it. And among them is his intercession, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, for his uncle Abu Talib, that Allah may lighten his torment. As for the intercession of the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous, it is their intercession for believers, not for disbelievers. For Allah does not permit intercession for a polytheist. It is an intercession that some disobedient believers who deserve it will not enter the Fire. And an intercession that disobedient believers who have entered the Fire will be brought out of it. This intercession has two conditions. The first is Allah's permission to the intercessor for his intercession. As Allah, the Almighty, says: "Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?" The second is Allah's pleasure, Glorified, with the one for whom intercession is made. As indicated by His saying, the Almighty: "He knows what is before them and what is behind them." “He knoweth what is before them and what is behind them, and they cannot intercede except for him whom He accepteth, and they quake for awe of Him.” (21:28) “He knoweth what is before them and what is behind them, and they cannot intercede except for him whom He accepteth, and they quake for awe of Him.” (21:28)
