00:05:55.800 --> 00:05:59.800 he, peace and blessings be upon him, said regarding her: 00:05:59.800 --> 00:06:02.959 "I was indeed blessed with her love." 00:06:02.959 --> 00:06:05.959 'A'ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, narrated: 00:06:05.959 --> 00:06:10.959 Whenever the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, mentioned Khadijah, 00:06:10.959 --> 00:06:13.959 he would praise her in the most magnificent manner. 00:06:13.959 --> 00:06:16.990 She said: "One day, I became jealous 00:06:16.990 --> 00:06:21.990 and said: 'How often you remember that toothless old woman, 00:06:21.990 --> 00:06:26.990 when Allah has replaced her for you with someone better than her!' 00:06:26.990 --> 00:06:32.019 He said: 'Allah has not replaced her with anyone better than her. 00:06:32.019 --> 00:06:36.060 She believed in me when the people disbelieved, 00:06:36.060 --> 00:06:39.060 she verified my truthfulness when the people accused me of lying, 00:06:39.060 --> 00:06:43.060 she supported me with her wealth when the people deprived me, 00:06:43.060 --> 00:06:47.060 and Allah blessed me with her children 00:06:47.060 --> 00:06:50.060 while denying me the children of other women.'" 00:06:50.060 --> 00:06:56.279 Third, his profound grief over her passing, as will be discussed. 00:06:56.279 --> 00:07:02.310 Fourth, her memory was never erased from his heart or mind. 00:07:02.310 --> 00:07:06.410 'A'ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, narrated: 00:07:06.410 --> 00:07:10.410 Halah bint Khuwaylid, Khadijah's sister, sought permission to enter 00:07:10.410 --> 00:07:14.410 upon the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, 00:07:14.410 --> 00:07:17.410 and he recognized Khadijah's manner of asking permission, 00:07:17.410 --> 00:07:20.410 which moved him deeply, and he exclaimed: 00:07:20.410 --> 00:07:23.410 "O Allah, let it be Halah bint Khuwaylid!" 00:07:23.410 --> 00:07:26.410 I became jealous and said: 00:07:26.410 --> 00:07:30.410 "Why do you remember an old woman from among the elders of Quraysh, 00:07:30.410 --> 00:07:34.410 toothless and long deceased, 00:07:34.410 --> 00:07:37.410 when Allah has replaced her for you with someone better?" 00:07:37.410 --> 00:07:43.819 Fifth, his kind treatment of her friends out of loyalty to her. 00:07:43.819 --> 00:07:48.050 'A'ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, narrated: 00:07:48.050 --> 00:07:53.050 "I was never as jealous of any of the Prophet's wives 00:07:53.050 --> 00:07:58.050 as I was of Khadijah, though I never saw her. 00:07:58.050 --> 00:08:03.050 But the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to mention her often, 00:08:03.050 --> 00:08:08.050 and he would sometimes slaughter a sheep, cut it into pieces, 00:08:08.050 --> 00:08:12.050 and send them to Khadijah's friends. 00:08:12.050 --> 00:08:16.209 I would sometimes say to him: 'It is as if there were no other woman in the world 00:08:16.209 --> 00:08:19.209 except Khadijah!' 00:08:19.209 --> 00:08:23.209 and he would reply: 'She was such and such, 00:08:23.209 --> 00:08:26.209 and she bore my children.'" 00:08:26.209 --> 00:08:30.560 The Sorrowful Event and Its Date: 00:08:30.560 --> 00:08:34.779 The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, 00:08:34.779 --> 00:08:39.779 enjoyed immense blessings in the embrace of Khadijah, may Allah be pleased with her, 00:08:39.779 --> 00:08:43.779 finding in her company solace and serenity, 00:08:43.779 --> 00:08:47.779 soothing comfort against the flames of sorrow, 00:08:47.779 --> 00:08:51.779 and noble support through life's hardships; 00:08:51.779 --> 00:08:56.779 she was the delight of his eyes and a sanctuary of happiness and peace. 00:08:56.779 --> 00:09:02.850 Yet death is an inevitable truth and an unalterable decree; 00:09:02.850 --> 00:09:07.850 thus, death visited Khadijah, may Allah be pleased with her, 00:09:07.850 --> 00:09:11.850 in the month of Ramadan, after ten days had passed, 00:09:11.850 --> 00:09:15.850 in the tenth year of the Prophetic mission, 00:09:15.850 --> 00:09:17.850 though some say earlier. 00:09:17.850 --> 00:09:25.909 This event had a painful impact on the soul of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, 00:09:25.909 --> 00:09:31.009 for he lost a strong arm that supported and empowered him, 00:09:31.009 --> 00:09:35.009 an embrace that had comforted and sheltered him, 00:09:35.009 --> 00:09:40.009 and a beloved companion who had stood by him in ease and hardship 00:09:40.009 --> 00:09:43.009 for twenty-five years. 00:09:43.009 --> 00:09:46.230 What intensified this sorrow 00:09:46.230 --> 00:09:50.230 was its proximity to the passing of his uncle, Abu Talib, 00:09:50.230 --> 00:09:54.230 who had been his external protector among the people, 00:09:54.230 --> 00:09:59.230 while the mother of his children, Khadijah, may Allah be pleased with her, 00:09:59.230 --> 00:10:02.230 was his internal pillar of support. 00:10:02.230 --> 00:10:05.779 Among the lessons of this event: 00:10:05.779 --> 00:10:10.779 First, no matter how strong and enduring the bonds of love may be, 00:10:10.779 --> 00:10:14.779 death must inevitably sever them;
