Defining knowledge, how to acquire it, and explaining its merits
On the authority of Kamil bin Ziyad, he said:
Ali bin Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him, took my hand
So he took me to the side of the coward
When we became clear
He sat up and then breathed
Then he said
O Kamil bin Ziyad
Hearts are vessels
The best is the best
Remember what I tell you
Three people
A divine world
And educated as a way to survive
A rabble savage
Followers of every croaker
They sway with every wind
He was not illuminated by the light of knowledge
They did not resort to a close corner
Knowledge is better than money
Knowledge guards you
And you guard the money
Knowledge is based on action
Money is lacking in expenses
Loving the world is a religion to be condemned
Knowledge earns the world obedience in his life
What a beautiful thing that happened after his death
The creation of money disappears with its disappearance
The money tank died and they lived
And the scholars will remain for the rest of the world
Their eyes are missing
There are people like them in hearts
Abdullah bin Masoud, may God be pleased with him, said
Knowledge is not abundant in narration
But knowledge is fear
On the authority of Moaz bin Jabal, may God be pleased with him, he said:
Learn science
His teaching of God is out of fear
And his request is worship
And his study is praise
Searching for him is a jihad
Teaching it to those who do not know it is charity
And he gave it to his family as a sacrifice
God raises people through him
He makes them leaders in good deeds
And imams whose tracks are being punished
And emulate their actions
It comes down to their opinion
On the authority of Abu Darda, may God be pleased with him
He said
Three people
Scientist and educated
There is no good after that
On the authority of Al-Zuhri, may God have mercy on him, he said:
God is not worshiped with anything better than knowledge
A man asked Al-Hasan Al-Basri, may God have mercy on him, about something
And he said
The jurists say such and such
And he said
But the jurist is ascetic in this world
Desiring the afterlife
The one who sees the matter of his religion
Continuing to worship his Lord Almighty
On the authority of Yahya bin Abi Kathir, may God have mercy on him, he said:
The inheritance of knowledge is better than the inheritance of gold and silver
A righteous soul is better than pearls
Qatada, may God have mercy on him, said
A chapter of knowledge that a man memorizes
He seeks the good of himself and the good of people
Better than worshiping all around
On the authority of Makhoul, may God have mercy on him, he said:
Whoever seeks knowledge learns it
He is on the way to heaven until he returns
Sufyan Al-Thawri, may God have mercy on him, said
A man is more in need of knowledge than bread and meat
He said, may God have mercy on him
I know of no better deed than seeking knowledge and preserving it
For whomever God Almighty wants good for
On the authority of Mutarrif bin Abdullah bin Al-Shakhir, may God have mercy on him, he said:
The virtue of knowledge is better than the virtue of worship
Al-Bayhaqi said, and it is authentic according to Mutarrif’s statement
On the authority of Sufyan bin Uyaynah, may God have mercy on him, he said:
It is not a world that knows good from evil
But the scholar knows what is good and follows it
He knows evil and avoids it
Al-Shafi’i, may God have mercy on him, said
Knowledge is what is useful, not knowledge is what is preserved
Ibn Shihab Al-Zuhri, may God have mercy on him, said
Knowledge is better than work for those who are ignorant
Action is better than knowledge for those who know
Al-Asma’i, may God have mercy on him, said
Who could not bear the humiliation of education for an hour
He remained in the humiliation of ignorance forever
Abdullah bin Ahmed bin Hanbal, may God have mercy on him, said
When Abu Zaraa Al-Razi, may God have mercy on him, came
He stayed with my father
He studied a lot
I heard my father say one day
I did not pray anything other than the obligatory prayer
I took over Abu Zar’ah’s study on my windowsill
Imam Ahmed, may God have mercy on him, said
People live only through sheikhs
If the sheikhs go, what will be left of me?
He said: “People are judged by their elders.”
If the elders go, then I will live
He said, may God have mercy on him
People need knowledge
Like bread and water
Because knowledge is needed every hour
Bread and water every day once or twice
Muhanna said

What is the best business?
He said: Seeking knowledge is for those whose intentions are sound
