In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. We are a sun that never sets. Should the caller summon us, we respond. We shall restore the usurped right. We shall grant victory to the beloved Al-Aqsa. Within it is the best of creation, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. It is truly an excellent place of prayer. An excellent place of prayer. What are the most prominent conquests of Bayt al-Maqdis throughout history? Among the characteristics of this blessed mosque Is that it is the goal of the conquerors. Within it is the station of the mujahidin. And it is the abode and place of the victorious faction. He, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, says: "A group of my Ummah will continue to fight for the truth," "Prevailing over those who oppose them," "Until the last of them fights the Antichrist (al-Masih al-Dajjal)." And as is well known, The Dajjal will be killed at the eastern gate of Ludd in Palestine. Musa, peace be upon him, after his salvation and that of his people from Pharaoh and his soldiers, Had as his greatest objective and destination Bayt al-Maqdis, To conquer it, liberate it, and establish monotheism within it. However, his people let him down and did not respond to his command, So Allah, the Almighty, punished them with forty years of wandering, Until that failing generation passed away, And a new, courageous generation emerged. After the death of Musa, peace be upon him, His young attendant, Yusha ibn Nun, peace be upon him, led the Children of Israel. He marched toward Bayt al-Maqdis to conquer it, After preparing the generation and ensuring their devotion to Allah. It was among the most fortified of cities in its walls, The highest in its palaces, And the most populous. He besieged it for six months. After the siege and the intensification of the battle between the army of Yusha And the army of the tyrants from among the pagan giants, The decisive battle took place on a Friday. The sun neared its setting, And if nightfall were to overtake them, They would enter the Sabbath, Whereby they would be unable to fight. Yusha, peace be upon him, looked at the sun And said to it: "You are under command, and I am under command." "O Allah, hold it back for me for a while." So it was held back. A miracle occurred that had not happened throughout history, Except for Yusha, And in that holy land, Bayt al-Maqdis was conquered. Regarding this, he, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, says: "The sun has not been held back for any human being," "Except for Yusha, peace be upon him." Nights passed as they marched toward Bayt al-Maqdis. Bayt al-Maqdis remained in the hands of the believing faction For nearly four decades. After the death of Yusha, peace be upon him, And the absence of enjoining good and forbidding evil, A deviant, affluent, and cowardly generation emerged. So Allah empowered against them those who humiliated them and usurped their land, And inflicted upon them the worst of torments. They were Jalut (Goliath) and his soldiers. The situation remained for nearly one hundred and twenty-five years, Until a godly, believing group emerged, Led by the believing, learned king, Talut (Saul). Among his soldiers was Dawud, peace be upon him. Allah, the Exalted, has narrated to us This story in His Noble Book. The Almighty said: “Bethink thee of the leaders of the Children of Israel after Moses, how they said unto a prophet whom they had: Set up for us a king and we will fight in Allah's way. He said: Would ye then refrain from fighting if fighting were prescribed for you? They said: Why should we not fight in Allah's way when we have been driven from our dwellings with our children? Yet, when fighting was prescribed for them, they turned away, all save a few of them. Allah is aware of evil-doers.” (2:246) "After Musa," "When they said to a prophet of theirs, 'Appoint for us a king...'" “Bethink thee of the leaders of the Children of Israel after Moses, how they said unto a prophet whom they had: Set up for us a king and we will fight in Allah's way. He said: Would ye then refrain from fighting if fighting were prescribed for you? They said: Why should we not fight in Allah's way when we have been driven from our dwellings with our children? Yet, when fighting was prescribed for them, they turned away, all save a few of them. Allah is aware of evil-doers.” (2:246) "He said, 'Would you perhaps refrain...'" “Bethink thee of the leaders of the Children of Israel after Moses, how they said unto a prophet whom they had: Set up for us a king and we will fight in Allah's way. He said: Would ye then refrain from fighting if fighting were prescribed for you? They said: Why should we not fight in Allah's way when we have been driven from our dwellings with our children? Yet, when fighting was prescribed for them, they turned away, all save a few of them. "But when fighting was prescribed for them..." “Bethink thee of the leaders of the Children of Israel after Moses, how they said unto a prophet whom they had: Set up for us a king and we will fight in Allah's way. He said: Would ye then refrain from fighting if fighting were prescribed for you? They said: Why should we not fight in Allah's way when we have been driven from our dwellings with our children? Yet, when fighting was prescribed for them, they turned away, all save a few of them. Allah is aware of evil-doers.” (2:246) "And Allah is Knowing of the wrongdoers." The filtering, sifting, and purification began in the army of Talut. He tested them with several tests, Because only the truthful and the righteous liberate Bayt al-Maqdis, The pious and the believers, Regardless of the numbers. The Almighty said: “And when Saul set out with the army, he said: Lo! Allah will try you by (the ordeal of) a river. Whosoever therefore drinketh thereof he is not of me, and whosoever tasteth it not he is of me, save him who taketh (thereof) in the hollow of his hand. But they drank thereof, all save a few of them. And after he had crossed (the river), he and those who believed with him, they said: We have no power this day against Goliath and his hosts. But those who knew that they would meet Allah exclaimed: How many a little company hath overcome a mighty host by Allah's leave! Allah is with the steadfast.” (2:249) “And when Saul set out with the army, he said: Lo! Allah will try you by (the ordeal of) a river. Then victory comes at the hands of the steadfast, believing group. “And when they went into the field against Goliath and his hosts they said: Our Lord! Bestow on us endurance, make our foothold sure, and give us help against the disbelieving folk.” (2:250) “And when they went into the field against Goliath and his hosts they said: Our Lord! Bestow on us endurance, make our foothold sure, and give us help against the disbelieving folk.” (2:250) "...and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people." “So they routed them by Allah's leave and David slew Goliath; and Allah gave him the kingdom and wisdom, and taught him of that which He willeth. And if Allah had not repelled some men by others the earth would have been corrupted. But Allah is a Lord of Kindness to (His) creatures.” (2:251) “So they routed them by Allah's leave and David slew Goliath; and Allah gave him the kingdom and wisdom, and taught him of that which He willeth. And if Allah had not repelled some men by others the earth would have been corrupted. But Allah is a Lord of Kindness to (His) creatures.” (2:251) "...and He teaches him from that which He wills." It is said that the number of those who requested a king to fight with him in the cause of Allah Was eighty thousand. But only a small few remained of them, As is established from Al-Bara'. He said: "We, the companions of Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to say," "That the number of the companions of Badr was the same as the number of the companions of Talut who crossed the river with him." And none crossed with him except a believer. Three hundred and some odd men. Among the bright images and important, luminous historical stances Is the great conquest of Bayt al-Maqdis during the era of Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, In the year fifteen of the Hijrah. He, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, had given glad tidings of its conquest. It is mentioned that the Artaban of Iliya (Aelia), When he received the letter of Amr ibn al-As, may Allah be pleased with him, after the conquest of Gaza, And he mentioned the characteristics of the one who would conquer Bayt al-Maqdis, They applied to Umar, may Allah be pleased with him. When Abu Ubaydah, may Allah be pleased with him, besieged Iliya, Its people requested a peace treaty with Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him. So he wrote to him, And he traveled from Madinah to Bayt al-Maqdis To receive its keys, As the first city to be conquered by treaty, And received by the Caliph himself. At that time, he ruled from Sindh to Egypt, And hundreds of cities, villages, and provinces had been conquered during his caliphate. Upon the arrival of Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, at Bayt al-Maqdis, He encountered a muddy crossing. He dismounted from his camel and took off his sandals, Holding them in his hand, and waded through the water with his camel. Abu Ubaydah, may Allah be pleased with him, said to him: "You have done a great deed today in the eyes of the people of the earth," "You have done such and such." He struck him on his chest and said: "Would that someone other than you had said this, O Abu Ubaydah!" "You were the most humiliated of people," "The most insignificant and the fewest." "Then Allah honored you with Islam," "So whenever you seek honor in anything else, Allah will humiliate you." It is mentioned that Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, Ordered Bilal, may Allah be pleased with him, to call the adhan, For he had ceased calling the adhan after the death of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. When Bilal, may Allah be pleased with him, raised the adhan, Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, wept, And the Companions and the army wept, And the mosque shook with weeping, Because it reminded them of history, It reminded them of glory, It reminded them of their Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. O Allah, liberate the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the clutches of the usurpers, And decree for this Ummah a matter of right guidance, In which the sanctities are honored. An excellent place of prayer. We are a sun that never sets. Should the caller summon us, we respond. We shall restore the right, intact. We shall grant victory to the beloved Al-Aqsa.
