A verse and its Tafsir.
Allah the Exalted says:
“Thee (alone) we worship; Thee (alone) we ask for help.” (1:5)
This verse is of immense significance.
For this reason, some of the salaf said:
Al-Fatihah is the secret of the Qur'an.
And the secret of Al-Fatihah is:
“Thee (alone) we worship; Thee (alone) we ask for help.” (1:5)
Its meaning is:
We worship none but You, O Allah.
And we rely upon none but You.
And to these two profound meanings,
The entire religion returns.
Among its parallels in the Book of Allah is:
"So worship Him and rely upon Him."
“Say: He is the Beneficent. In Him we believe and in Him we put our trust. And ye will soon know who it is that is in error manifest.” (67:29)
“Lord of the East and the West; there is no Allah save Him; so choose thou Him alone for thy defender -” (73:9)
