God Almighty said
And among them are those who say, “Our Lord, give us goodness in this world and goodness in the Hereafter, and protect us from the torment of the Fire.”
Those will have a share of what they have earned, and God is quick to judge
On the authority of Anas, may God be pleased with him, he said
It was the most frequent supplication of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace
Oh God, give us good in this world
And in the afterlife it is good
Save us from the torment of the Fire
Ibn Kathir, may God have mercy on him, said
This call brought together all the goodness in the world
And I turned away all evil
The good deed in this world includes every worldly desire
From wellness and a spacious home
A good wife and ample livelihood
Useful knowledge and good deeds
An easy compound and beautiful praise
As for the good deeds in the afterlife
The highest of that is entering Paradise
And its dependencies are safe from the greatest terror
And facilitate the calculation
And other good matters of the afterlife
As for salvation from the fire
It requires facilitating its causes in this world
Avoiding incest and sins
And abandoning doubts and forbidden matters
