A verse and its Tafsir
Allah the Exalted says
“Allah had already given you the victory at Badr, when ye were contemptible. So observe your duty to Allah in order that ye may be thankful.” (3:123)
Badr, the site where the Battle of Badr took place
It is a town located between Makkah and Madinah
It became known as Badr
Because it contains a well attributed to a man named Badr
Imam al-Sha'bi said, as recorded in the Tafsir of Ibn Kathir
Badr is a well belonging to a man called Badr
I would add that Badr is currently situated on the road between Madinah and Yanbu'
It is located one hundred and fifty kilometers from Madinah
