00:00:00.560 --> 00:00:04.500
A verse and its Tafsir

00:00:04.500 --> 00:00:07.139
Allah the Exalted says

00:00:07.139 --> 00:00:16.690
“Allah had already given you the victory at Badr, when ye were contemptible. So observe your duty to Allah in order that ye may be thankful.” (3:123)

00:00:16.690 --> 00:00:20.850
Badr, the site where the Battle of Badr took place

00:00:20.850 --> 00:00:23.890
It is a town located between Makkah and Madinah

00:00:23.890 --> 00:00:25.649
It became known as Badr

00:00:25.649 --> 00:00:30.660
Because it contains a well attributed to a man named Badr

00:00:30.899 --> 00:00:35.380
Imam al-Sha'bi said, as recorded in the Tafsir of Ibn Kathir

00:00:35.380 --> 00:00:39.869
Badr is a well belonging to a man called Badr

00:00:39.869 --> 00:00:45.950
I would add that Badr is currently situated on the road between Madinah and Yanbu'

00:00:45.950 --> 00:00:50.429
It is located one hundred and fifty kilometers from Madinah
