al-Yamamah, 00:34:00.099 --> 00:34:03.099 when the Muslims were initially exposed and forced back, 00:34:03.099 --> 00:34:09.099 and the banner of the Emigrants fell from the hand of Zayd ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, 00:34:09.099 --> 00:34:12.099 I stepped forward and took up the banner. 00:34:12.099 --> 00:34:14.099 The people said to me, 00:34:14.099 --> 00:34:17.099 "We fear that we may be overrun from your flank!" 00:34:17.099 --> 00:34:18.099 So I said, 00:34:18.099 --> 00:34:21.099 "What a wretched bearer of the Qur'an I would be then, 00:34:21.099 --> 00:34:24.099 if the Muslims were to be attacked from my flank! 00:34:24.099 --> 00:34:30.099 This is not how we used to act alongside the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him!" 00:34:30.099 --> 00:34:33.130 Then I dug a pit in the ground, 00:34:33.130 --> 00:34:36.130 stood inside it holding the banner, 00:34:36.130 --> 00:34:39.130 and kept fighting and fighting 00:34:39.130 --> 00:34:42.130 while blows struck me from every direction, 00:34:42.130 --> 00:34:45.130 until I was weighed down by wounds 00:34:45.130 --> 00:34:47.130 and fell to the ground,
