A summary of the concepts held by the Ahl al-Sunnah.
Reward is attained in both this world and the Hereafter.
There is no independent path for achieving a good reward in the Hereafter,
and another separate path for the well-being of life in this world.
Rather, there is only one path through which both this world and the Hereafter are set right.
If a person deviates from this path, both their worldly life and their Hereafter are corrupted.
This sole path is faith and God-consciousness (taqwa).
It is belief in the Last Day and the realization of the divine methodology in worldly life.
This world is the sowing ground for the Hereafter.
There is no contradiction between cultivating worldly life in light of the methodology of Allah, the Almighty and Majestic,
and [preparing for] the Last Day.
For this world is a place of action, while the Hereafter is a place of reward and reckoning.
When this truth becomes clear,
the believer will be saved from the wretched dichotomy between this world and the Hereafter.
This is what is witnessed among many people,
which has only arisen from a corrupted perception of the comprehensive concept of worship in Islam.
We have come to see those who withdraw from the world and abandon its cultivation through reform,
leaving corruption to spread within it under the pretext of asceticism and devotion to the Hereafter,
and the refinement and purification of the soul.
This is met by another deviation,
which is becoming preoccupied and engrossed in this world and its adornments,
as if life in it were eternal,
until this has led to the forgetting of the Hereafter,
and heedlessness regarding it and the preparation for it.
