Summary of Sunni concepts
Polytheism is found in the basic pillars of worship in its comprehensive sense
Closeness, orientation, asceticism, obedience, following, and legislation
Love, loyalty and victory
Among the polytheism of closeness and asceticism is what the people of Noah, peace be upon him, did
From worshiping statues that were made for the righteous among them after their death
God Almighty said about them
And they said, “Do not forsake your gods, and do not forsake Wad, Suwa, Yaghuth, Ya’uq, and Nasr.”
In Sahih Al-Bukhari, these are originally the names of righteous men from Noah’s people
When they perished, Satan inspired their people to sit in their gatherings
On which they were sitting as monuments of statues, and they called them by their names
So they did so, and you did not worship them, until when those people perished and knowledge was abrogated, you worshiped them

The worship of these idols continued
It was transmitted to the Arabs before Islam
Each tribe had one of these idols that they worshiped instead of God
Omar bin Luhain Al-Khuza’i added other idols to it
Like Al-Lat, Al-Izza, Manat and Hubal
This polytheism still exists in our modern era
Buddhists worship the statue of Buddha and approach it
Hindus and Sikhs have multiple gods
Sufism is steeped in this form of polytheistic worship of many saints and righteous people
Circumambulating around their graves and slaughtering for them
There are many other misguided nations among them
As for the polytheism of obedience, following, and legislation
Humanity fell into it from ancient times as well
In the Holy Hadith
And I created all of My servants as being pure
And the devils came to them and led them away from their religion
And I forbade for them what I made permissible for them
And I commanded them to associate anything with Me for which I did not send down any authority

The People of the Book also fell into this trap
By following their rabbis in their analysis and prohibition
As God Almighty said about them
They took their rabbis and monks as lords other than God and Christ, son of Mary
They were commanded only to worship one God
There is no god but Him
Glory be to Him for what they associate with Him
Adi Ibn Hatim, may God be pleased with him, was amazed by the verse
He was a Christian before his conversion to Islam
He said, O Messenger of God, they were not worshiping them
He, may God bless him and grant him peace, said yes
But they make lawful for them what God has forbidden, so they make it lawful
They prohibit for them what God has permitted, so they prohibit it
This is their worship
Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi and authenticated by Al-Albani
The Arabs also fell into it before Islam
As mentioned about them in Surat Al-Ma’idah
They took Al-Buhaira, Al-Saybah, Al-Wasila, and Al-Hami
God Almighty said
God has not made it a lake or a lake
There is no bulk, no sila, and no welding
Nor Ham, but those who disbelieve invent lies against God
Most of them do not understand
Just as they argued with Muslims about the ruling on eating dead animals, they said:
Whatever God slaughters, do not eat, and whatever you slaughter, you may eat

That is what God Almighty says
And the devils inspire their friends to argue with you
And if you obey them, you are polytheists
Where Persia instructed the Quraysh
That the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, argued about the ruling on eating dead meat
The verse stated that obeying the infidels of Quraysh is polytheism
And in our contemporary reality
Many people fall into the trap of obedience and following
By resorting to judgment other than God’s law, knowingly and willingly
The Almighty’s saying applies to them
Have you not seen those who claim to have believed?
With what was revealed to you and what was revealed before you, they want
They want to be judged by the tyrant
They were commanded to disbelieve in him
Satan wants to mislead them far astray
Western civilization takes human desires as a god that it worships instead of God
And follow it in the name of freedom, human rights, etc
As for the trap of love, loyalty, and support
It is what we see today, the pre-Islamic diet of earthly ties
Love, loyalty and innocence are based on it
Such as devotion to the country, people, or race
And God Almighty said
Say, “Should I take a guardian other than God?”
