Forty hadiths on the virtue of charity.
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, who said:
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
A dinar you spend in the way of Allah,
a dinar you spend to free a slave,
a dinar you give in charity to a needy person,
and a dinar you spend on your family;
the one with the greatest reward
is the one you spent on your family.
