00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:05.200
Forty Hadiths on the Virtues of Charity.

00:00:05.200 --> 00:00:08.160
On the authority of Ibn 'Umar:

00:00:08.160 --> 00:00:13.160
A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and asked,

00:00:13.160 --> 00:00:15.160
"O Messenger of Allah,

00:00:15.160 --> 00:00:17.660
which people are most beloved to Allah,

00:00:17.660 --> 00:00:20.660
and which deeds are most beloved to Allah?"

00:00:20.660 --> 00:00:24.789
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) replied:

00:00:24.789 --> 00:00:27.789
"The most beloved of people to Allah Almighty

00:00:27.789 --> 00:00:29.789
are those who are most beneficial to people.

00:00:29.989 --> 00:00:32.990
And the most beloved of deeds to Allah Almighty

00:00:32.990 --> 00:00:35.990
is joy that you bring to a fellow Muslim,

00:00:35.990 --> 00:00:37.990
or relieving him of distress,

00:00:37.990 --> 00:00:40.990
or settling a debt for him,

00:00:40.990 --> 00:00:42.990
or repelling his hunger.

00:00:42.990 --> 00:00:47.020
Walking with a brother to help fulfill his need

00:00:47.020 --> 00:00:51.020
is dearer to me than observing i'tikaf in this mosque—

00:00:51.020 --> 00:00:54.020
meaning the Mosque of Medina—for an entire month.

00:00:54.020 --> 00:00:56.049
Whoever restrains his anger,

00:00:56.049 --> 00:00:58.049
Allah will conceal his faults.

00:00:58.250 --> 00:01:00.250
And whoever suppresses his rage,

00:01:00.250 --> 00:01:03.250
when he could have easily vented it,

00:01:03.250 --> 00:01:07.250
Allah will fill his heart with hope on the Day of Resurrection.

00:01:07.250 --> 00:01:10.250
And whoever walks with his brother to assist him with a need

00:01:10.250 --> 00:01:12.250
until it is fully resolved for him,

00:01:12.250 --> 00:01:17.250
Allah will make his feet firm on the Day when feet slip."

00:01:17.250 --> 00:01:19.599
