Sometimes, a student may commit certain lapses that the mentor dislikes.
However, the mentor may overlook them, realizing that constant correction for every lapse
might trigger a counterproductive reaction, such as the recipient becoming alienated or distracted.
There is no harm in this overlooking, provided it concerns lapses rather than clear-cut sins.
It must also be done with the intention of balancing priorities and delaying correction until the student matures.
And until they grasp the underlying flaw within the lapse.
Furthermore, this overlooking should never lead to neglect or heedlessness.
Neglecting to provide guidance is just as harmful as being overly insistent upon it.
It is the mentor’s wisdom that guides them as to when it is best to overlook and when it is best to provide direction.
