The Garden of Guidance.
Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said:
“Lo! Allah enjoineth justice and kindness, and giving to kinsfolk, and forbiddeth lewdness and abomination and wickedness. He exhorteth you in order that ye may take heed.” (16:90)
"and forbids indecency, wickedness, and oppression.
He admonishes you so that perhaps you will be mindful."
And on the authority of Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
"Whoever wishes for his life to be extended
and his provision to be increased,
let him be dutiful to his parents
and let him maintain his ties of kinship."

Therefore,
Al-Nawawi stated in his commentary on Sahih Muslim:
"The expansion of provision
means its enlargement and abundance;
and it was also said:
blessing in it.
As for the delaying of one's lifespan,
it raises a well-known question,
namely that lifespans and provisions are predestined, neither increasing nor decreasing:
'When their appointed term arrives, they cannot delay it by an hour, nor can they advance it.'
The scholars have provided several answers,
the most correct of which is:
that this increase is through the blessing bestowed upon his lifespan,
granting him success in acts of obedience,
filling his time with what benefits him in the Hereafter,
and preserving it from being wasted in other pursuits.
The second interpretation:
that this is relative to what appears to the angels,
what is recorded in the Preserved Tablet,
and the like;
for it may appear to them in the Tablet
that his lifespan is sixty years,
unless he maintains his ties of kinship—
so that if he upholds them,
forty more are added to him.
Yet Allah, the Glorified and Exalted, already knew
exactly which of these would occur for him,
which is among the meanings of His saying, Exalted is He:
'Allah eliminates what He wills or confirms.'
Thus, in relation to Allah's eternal knowledge
and what His decree has already settled, there is no increase—
rather, any change there is impossible;
but in relation to what is made manifest to created beings,
such an increase is conceivable,
and that is what the hadith intends.
The third interpretation:
that what is meant is the enduring legacy of his good reputation after his passing,
as though he had never died;
this was reported by the Qadi,
but it is weak or entirely baseless.
