Surah al-Qadr.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
“Lo! We revealed it on the Night of Predestination.” (97:1)
“Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Night of Power is!” (97:2)
“The Night of Power is better than a thousand months.” (97:3)
“The angels and the Spirit descend therein, by the permission of their Lord, with all decrees.” (97:4)
“The angels and the Spirit descend therein, by the permission of their Lord, with all decrees.” (97:4)
“(The night is) Peace until the rising of the dawn.” (97:5)
We sent down this Qur'an in its entirety at once.
To the lowest heaven on the Night of Decree.
It is the night of divine decree.
In which Allah ordains the decrees for the year.
And what could make you understand, O Muhammad, what the Night of Decree is?
Deeds performed on the Night of Decree.
Are better than deeds performed over a thousand months that do not contain the Night of Decree.
The angels descend, and Jibril with them, who is the Spirit.
On the Night of Decree.
“The angels and the Spirit descend therein, by the permission of their Lord, with all decrees.” (97:4)
Meaning, by the command of their Lord.
Concerning every matter that Allah has decreed for that year.
Such as provisions, lifespans, and other things.
The Night of Decree is peace, free from all evil.
From its beginning until the break of dawn on that night.
