Riyad al-Salihin from the words of the Master of the Messengers, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. Chapter: Hastening to perform good deeds. And urging whoever intends to do good to pursue it with diligence and without hesitation. On the authority of Anas, may Allah be pleased with him: That the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, took a sword on the day of Uhud. He said, "Who will take this from me?" They stretched out their hands, each one of them saying, "I will, I will." He said, "Who will take it with its due right?" The people hesitated. Then Abu Dujanah, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "I will take it with its due right." He took it and struck the heads of the polytheists with it. Narrated by Muslim. The name of Abu Dujanah is Simak ibn Kharashah. His saying "the people hesitated" Means they paused. "Struck with it" means he split. "The heads of the polytheists" Means their skulls. "Take it with its due right" Means to resist the enemies of Allah with it. And to strive with it as it ought to be striven. From the benefits of the hadith: An illustration of the bravery of Abu Dujanah, may Allah be pleased with him, his sacrifice, and his sincerity in jihad. It does not indicate cowardice on the part of the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them. Rather, they hesitated to take the sword Fearing that they might not be able to fulfill its condition and its right. They had stretched out their hands to take it initially To fight with it to the best of their ability without conditions. The encouragement of the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, To his Companions for greater sacrifice and inflicting damage upon the enemy. The permissibility of offering weapons to a soldier to carry them with their due right. People's abilities in carrying weapons vary. A Muslim should direct his weapon to strike the heads of the polytheists and disperse their ranks. It is forbidden for him to point it at his fellow Muslim. Whoever takes on a task must perform it with right and sincerity. On the authority of al-Zubayr ibn 'Adi, who said: We came to Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, And complained to him about what we were suffering from al-Hajjaj. He said: "Be patient, for there will not come upon you a time But that the one after it is worse than it, Until you meet your Lord." "I heard this from your Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him." Narrated by al-Bukhari. From the benefits of the hadith: The permissibility of complaining about an Imam or ruler to the people of knowledge. True leadership of the people lies with the people of knowledge. The governorship of al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf al-Thaqafi was oppressive. For he was the destroyer of the tribe of Thaqif. The wisdom of the people of knowledge, Their foresight, and their knowledge of the reality of the people Are manifested in critical situations and difficult circumstances. The recommendation of patience during trials, And hastening to perform righteous deeds. No time comes But that the one after it is harder on the people than it. The spread of corruption at the end of time. Not rebelling against rulers and authorities Unless they commit clear disbelief, Regarding which the Ummah has proof from Allah. Repelling a greater harm with a lesser harm. For Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, If he had permitted them to rebel against al-Hajjaj, Harms and strife would have occurred, the consequences of which only Allah knows. But he commanded them to be patient for fear of that happening. On the authority of Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, That the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Hasten to perform deeds before seven things: Are you waiting for anything but poverty that makes you forget, Or wealth that makes you arrogant, Or illness that corrupts, Or senility that makes you doting, Or death that comes suddenly, Or the Dajjal, Who is the worst hidden thing to be awaited, Or the Hour? The Hour is more grievous and more bitter." Narrated by al-Tirmidhi. "Hasten" means compete. "Wealth that makes you arrogant" Means it leads its possessor to exceed the limits in sins. "Senility that makes you doting" Means causing one to fall into dotage, Which is speech that deviates from soundness. "Death that comes suddenly" Means killing quickly. "The Hour is more grievous and more bitter" Means a greater calamity and more bitter than the torment of this world. From the benefits of the hadith: Information about the Dajjal, who is one of the signs of the Hour. That the torment of this world is lighter than the torment of the Hereafter. A person must hasten to perform righteous deeds Before obstacles to them draw near. That among the most important things that distract a person from good are: Severe poverty, wealth, illness, and senility. A believer must take advantage of the occasions in which opportunities for good deeds are available to him, Because they are not permanent, Like a merchant who watches for seasons to obtain large profits. On the authority of Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, That the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said on the day of Khaybar: "I will certainly give this banner to a man who loves Allah and His Messenger, And through whose hands Allah will grant victory." 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "I never loved leadership except on that day, So I stood tall in hope that I would be called for it." But the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, called 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, And gave it to him. He said, "Go and do not look back until Allah grants you victory." 'Ali walked a little, then stopped and did not look back. He shouted, "O Messenger of Allah, for what should I fight the people?" He said, "Fight them until they testify that there is no god but Allah, And that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. If they do that, They have protected their blood and wealth from you, except for its due right, And their reckoning is with Allah." Narrated by Muslim. "Stood tall" Means I jumped up, looking forward. Khaybar: A large city with fortresses and farms, Located north of Medina towards the Levant. "Shouted" Means he raised his voice. From the benefits of the hadith: The standard-bearers should be among those who love Allah and His Messenger. This is the characteristic of the party of Allah, the mujahideen. The Companions used to dislike leadership Because of the great responsibility it entails. The permissibility of aspiring and looking forward to a matter whose goodness is confirmed. The Imam's guidance to the army commander On how to act on the battlefield. The commitment of the Companions of the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, to his instructions, And their haste to implement them. Whoever finds something unclear regarding what he has been tasked with, Should ask about it. Love of Allah and His Messenger Is only through faith in them And following what they have commanded. A miracle of the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, As he informed of an unseen matter, And it was as he informed, Which was the conquest of Khaybar. It is not permissible to kill one who has uttered the two testimonies of faith, Unless something appears from him that warrants killing, Such as intentional murder, Or denying something of the religion That necessitates disbelief and apostasy. The rulings of Islam are applied Based on what is apparent from people, And Allah takes charge of their inner secrets. Zakat is taken by force If its owner does not pay it willingly. Riyad al-Salihin.
