kept the company of Ubayy ibn Ka'b, may Allah be pleased with him. 00:00:43.630 --> 00:00:46.630 He used to teach me the Qur'an. 00:00:46.630 --> 00:00:49.659 When my people wanted to depart, interfere with me in my prayer, 00:01:57.200 --> 00:02:00.200 To the point that I would not know what I was praying. 00:02:00.200 --> 00:02:03.200 The Qur'an would slip away from my memory. 00:02:03.200 --> 00:02:05.200 When I saw that, 00:02:05.200 --> 00:02:10.199 I traveled to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. 00:02:10.199 --> 00:02:11.199 He said, 00:02:11.199 --> 00:02:13.199 "What brought you?" 00:02:13.199 --> 00:02:14.199 I said, 00:02:14.199 --> 00:02:16.199 "O Messenger of Allah, 00:02:16.199 --> 00:02:19.199 Something has interfered with my prayers, 00:02:19.199 --> 00:02:22.199 To the point that I do not know what I am praying, 00:02:22.199 --> 00:02:25.229 And the Qur'an is slipping away from me." 00:02:25.229 --> 00:02:26.229 He said, 00:02:26.229 --> 00:02:28.229 "That is the devil. 00:02:28.229 --> 00:02:29.229 Come closer." 00:02:29.229 --> 00:02:31.229 I drew near to him, 00:02:31.229 --> 00:02:34.229 And I sat on the balls of my feet. 00:02:34.229 --> 00:02:36.229 He struck my chest with his hand, 00:02:36.229 --> 00:02:38.229 And blew into my mouth, 00:02:38.229 --> 00:02:39.229 And said, 00:02:39.229 --> 00:02:41.229 "Get out, enemy of Allah!" 00:02:41.229 --> 00:02:44.229 He did that three times. 00:02:44.229 --> 00:02:45.229 Then he said, 00:02:45.229 --> 00:02:47.229 "Return to your land." 00:02:47.229 --> 00:02:51.229 By Allah, he never bothered me in my prayer again, 00:02:51.229 --> 00:02:56.189 And I never forgot anything I wanted to memorize. 00:02:56.189 --> 00:03:00.189 I played a role in preventing the Thaqif tribe from apostasy, 00:03:00.189 --> 00:03:06.189 As I gave a sermon to them after the death of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, 00:03:06.189 --> 00:03:09.189 And the apostasy of the rest of the Arabs. 00:03:09.189 --> 00:03:10.189 I said, 00:03:10.189 --> 00:03:12.189 "O people of Thaqif, 00:03:12.189 --> 00:03:15.189 You were the last of the people to embrace Islam, 00:03:15.189 --> 00:03:19.189 So do not be the first of them to apostatize." 00:03:19.189 --> 00:03:21.189 So Allah made them steadfast. 00:03:21.189 -->
