This is demonstrated by the words of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, in the hadith about separation
The Jews divided into one or seventy-two sects

My nation will split into seventy-three sects
Narrated by Abu Dawud, Al-Tirmidhi and Ahmad
All of them are from the hadith of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him
And in the narration of Awf bin Malik, may God be pleased with him, for the hadith
It increased at the end
One in heaven
Seventy-two in Hell
It was said, O Messenger of God, who are they?
The group said
Narrated by Ibn Majah and authenticated by Al-Albani
This is the one group that survived
It is a sect and sect of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah

And his companions in belief and action
Those other than them are among the misguided sects
From the people of whims and heresies
Their heresy may be considered infidel and expels one from the religion
Like the heresies of the mystics and the deeds of the polytheist Sufis
It may not be infidel
It is their owners only
Outside the circle of Sunnis
But they remain among the people of the religion and the Qiblah
