The essence of the concepts of Ahl al-Sunnah
The trial of conforming to reality
This is the trial in which many people fall
due to the pressure of reality
so they prioritize people's satisfaction and customs over Allah's satisfaction, His rulings, and His law.
And they make this the basis of their perceptions, concepts, behavior, and morals.
And that is sufficient as a trial.
What is required of the believer is to proceed and change reality to what pleases Allah, the Exalted.
Not to conform to it and be with it.
For that incurs Allah's displeasure upon him.
And his command, in the end, leads to people's displeasure with him.
The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
"And whoever seeks the pleasure of people by incurring the displeasure of Allah,
Allah will be displeased with him and will make people displeased with him."
And this trial can intensify,
to the point of causing its perpetrator to fall into major shirk (polytheism),
conforming to his fathers, ancestors, and the people around him.
And it may be a cause for falling into wickedness and disobedience.
The root of conforming to reality is desire (hawa).
Until the heart is sealed,
so it does not recognize good nor condemn evil,
except for what it has imbibed from its desires.
